Best day!

Sit all day on the 11th. Historically this has been the best day for me and my friends in Ohio.

That's cool. I have a "best day" also. Seems like I've shot more bow bucks on Nov. 7th than any other day.

Just got back from 4 days of archery hunting in Ohio yesterday. First 2 days were dead and then Sunday it was like someone had hit a switch, bucks were responding to grunt calls and cruising for does hard Sunday and Monday. No matter when we go to Ohio it always seem to get good on the day we have to leave!!!

I am not in Ohio but dang close enough. Our rut season so far has been complete garbage. Very little sign and very little buck movement during the day. Last tuesday I did see a small buck after a doe, but 20 minutes later 6 more came through completely alone. I am hunting Thursday and Satruday and hoping to at least see some activity!

There has been quite a bit around my area from what ive heard and seen.

Posted by Laura Bell on 11-04-2009 12:33 AM:

Just got in a little while ago. Seen 5 - 1 small buck and 4 Does.
It was kinda cool because that little buck, a 6 or 7-point came past my stand and I pulled out the grunt tube and gave him a few. He stopped for a few seconds and then stiffly started walking off. I gave him a few more grunts and he just bristled up, most all of his hair was standing up and he picked up the pace out of there. It was the coolest thing! Then he got a aways and I heard him grunting. Then 2 Does bolted out of the woods and into the picked bean field. He took chase, but they came back into the woods and he left them alone.
So they're getting frisky! First I've really seen, so it should be good!

They are running.

I seen 4 bucks this morning all good ones and about 6 does. Missed one of the bucks cause my arrow hit a tree but i ended up with a decent doe this morning.

Posted by jpatt on 11-07-2009 11:59 PM:

bucks

I have been seeing bigger bucks on the side of rt50 at night now, I had 2 bucks fighting thursday morning but i couldnt see them it wasnt day light yet. Thismorning i had a desent 8 point eating my corn but when he began to leave i tried to call him closer with a doe bleat and he wanted nothing to do with it, then i tried to rattle slowly and he ran off when he heard that, so hopefully things pick up

Posted by Steve Gilland on 11-08-2009 02:35 AM:

Thanks for all the info keep it comeing. I'm gonna hit it tomorrow all day. I hate hunting when its in the 60's and I dont think the warm weather will help the rut along.
