Check out first night alone - 5 mo. old!

Took our 5 month old pup, Storm out on his own tonight.....wind 15 mph.....34 degrees....hunted out about 100 yards in front of us.....went off into creek and struck......drove a good track at least 500 yards, according to the Garmin....last 200 yards was an ivy bluff off a river......threw a nice locate and went into a chop....set and treed at least 15 minutes for us to get to him. Had a coon! Awesome 1st night out!

Hey Bob, good to hear from you. Yeah she's growing up, I like these nights out with her cause I know they may not last a real long time. It's a dans vest think I got it in Boone area that dealer is no longer there I don't think, prob could order it, it's nice in winter but hot in summer.Hope all your hunting goes well.

Thanks guys it is a joy with both. Went out again last night, he did good again, good track got treed under a big root ball of a tree. Then the next track was just to hard for him to get it treed, but showed a lot of promise run a long ways a located on treed up 4 to 5 times but didn't comment, ended up close to a house with a lot of dogs and came out to us.

Sure sounds like he's a special hound. A pup that will work a bad track at five months is incredible, and I like it that he did not commit. I don't want a dog to commit if it's not there. Keep us posted on his progress. I know you well enough to know you don't blow smoke about your hounds, and you wouldn't say it if it wasn't so. Hope he turns out to be your "once in a lifetime hound".

Yes sir his name is chip. From what I no about him he is a pretty good coon dog. Won his cast two nights at bluetick days. His daddy and grand daddy carried a lot of weight in the coon world.
