Thanks! It is a nice picture but I didn't take that one. The credit goes to someone else. It was taken by a friend.

Funny that you mentioned that. Those birds belong to friends of ours and they brought up that very thing!

Little Chicken

This little chicken has chewed little holes in a round circle on my pecan tree's. He's real friendly, and he's there every day. I have never seen his girl friend, Just Him.

Great picture, I had quite a flock of free rangers years ago, had to find all their hiding places if I wanted eggs. Guinea fowl were always my favorite. Pheasants were always fun to have around also.

Thanks or the compliments. I will also mention there is quite a difference in the quality of the eggs from free ranging chickens and the store brand.

More Cool Pix!

LOVE the pea fowl and the guineas and the little woodpecker! I feed the woodpeckers out on a couple of apple trees we have with a game cam set up... We have a red belly and a little Downy who are not shy. The little Downy eats the walnuts as I put them in his special spot now and I talk to him...LOL... THe chickadees will land right on my hand now too... Even tamer than our chickens!

Johnny.. our weather is nice FOR HERE... mid thirties last time I looked today. Last couple have been SUNNY and in the mid 40s... no flowers YET...but I can SMELL SPRING! The birdsongs have changed... I LOVE this sign of SPRING!

BTW the ONLY raccoons we kill here (only 2 so far) are the ones that DO get our chickens... once they get the taste for them it's all over... We have a family of coon that grew up in our hayloft with the feral cats and THEY come back to eat catfood...and the almonds and peanuts I give them. I hang the peanuts on wires and they PLAY with them like cats and we get Cool Pix We figure if they are not hungry...they will not eat the birds...so far so good.

Have a Great day! Spring is Coming! Heather the Feather

I like Jersey black giants the best of this selection. They lay good, will set, take cold weather very well, and they will grow very large.
