Idiot ?
I have a pup that I purchased recently. This pup is by far the most annoying dog I have ever owned. She barks non stop in the kennel, even if I put a bark collar, or trainer on her. She is also extremely messy. She steps in and rolls in her stool. She also uses her house as a bathroom. Clean her bedding every other day. I have never owned a dog like this. This dog is out of reputable breeder's stud dog, so I will leave his name out of this. The bottom side is blood that I have owned in the past. I need a solution. Any help?

Don't know how old she is but sounds like she's really high strung with lots of energy. If age and huntin her hard don't calm her down she may always be like that.
Cull her....u will be glad u did. Ive had several like this and cant handle them.
sometimes these obnoxious lil dogs are sure enough jam up dogs in the woods. I wouldnt cull a dog that I havent seen hunt
Fact is if you don't like a dog the chances that you make it into a top dog are slim. I have told friends for over 20 years if you don't like it as a pup do the dog a favor, and get rid of it.
I have seen these same dogs go on to make good dogs, but in most cases the guy liked the dog.

If you can let her run loose, it will calm her down. If not then a super size kennel. If you can't do that say by by
I know what I would do. She wouldn't be eating my feed anymore. Maybe you could rehome her to a nice family home for a pet. Should make a good house dog.
I've had some like that. Not quite to that extreme though.

It's been my experience that the dogs that bark all day and night in the pen are the same ones when you take them to the woods they won't go hunting. Weird huh ?
The ones that bark non-stop in the kennel, run their chain all day, roll around in their poop, jump and run in their kennel, bark in the box, scared of a fly, timid as a mouse, etc. etc. DRIVE ME ABSOULTLY INSANE!!! I always try to correct them first, the smart ones learn fast the dumb ones, well it's pretty self explanatory!! Dumb dogs rarely make COON-DOGS!! Some have mentioned that the rattled headed ones make great competition dogs but their usually the dog YOU HATE TO DRAW OUT WITH, if ya know what I mean. I can put up with certain things but it wouldn't matter if it treed every coon in the woods, and won every hunt around, if it acts like an idiot around the house I DO NOT WANT IT!!!.

I have had 3 dogs just like the one described. Here is what I have to say...if you can get past the lunacy you just might have a way better than average dog at the end of the day. All that said, there really are enough good bred lines of dogs around that don't act this way and so there is no reason for anyone to have to put up with a dog like this. But, if you can "get through" to one of these moron dogs, again, you just might have something. The ones I have had, believe it or not, made good dogs. it was a real challenge to get them to understand and I gave up several times but kept trying. Then, when it finally clicked it finally did click and the dogs never forgot. Getting there was not fun and I do not go looking for this type dog by no means. I am also not trying to say that all dogs like this can make a good one. Just that sometimes a good one comes from an unlikely source.
Another way of saying it is; it's like working on a piece of heavy equipment vs. a Volkswagen...you cant just hit it with a claw hammer, you have to hit it with a big sledge hammer...repeatedly, until it finally moves. Working on heavy stuff aint for everyone...but when you climb up on that 963 Cat and shove over a big tree and the motor don't even strain...you feel real good!!!
First off how close are your neighbors and how long will it be before they complain to you about the constant barking. Then how long before they complain to animal control. Then after animal control comes out several times, how long before animal control issues a fine. The question is if you have neighbors nearby how long are they going to put up with the constant barking.

X3- I know you think you got an idiot now but I'd have to see what happened in the woods b4 I made my decision. I've seen plenty of dogs act like idiots when they penned up and when you hunt them they sleep all day and you don't even know they're there. If the dog doesn't act any better in the woods than it does in the lot then you get rid of it
I have already had animal control at the house. I am trying to be patient with her. she has learned that when I yell quiet to run in the house and lay down. I am not set up to have her run loose. I take her to a large area where she can run until she drops, she goes about 100 yards away and lays down. She will stay there until I call her back. I guess this one will try my patience until she breaks me or I break her. Thanks for all of the suggestions.
