What has happened to PRIDE dog food?

For the last 2 years I have had pretty good luck with the Pride Pro series Chicken and Rice. Lately (past 2-3 months) I have had dogs with runny stools and and lots of piles a day. Dogs are vet checked and get dewormed regular. I know one of my dogs was overheating last summer too.It must be the corn and fillers. I am getting ready to go to Tractor Supply and start weaning off Pride and I will probably be giving Diamond Naturals a try.
I have a Tractor Supply close and wonder what else is available?
Anyone else see a change in Pride?
I was thinking about Diamond EA but worry about the high protien and fat with the warm weather coming and overheating issues.
Dogs get hunted 2-4 nights and are very hard going and athletic and Pride isnt cutting it anymore

Don't go to Tractor Supply. Find you a mom and pops feed store that carries Diamond.
The cheapest tractor supply around here averages $8 more a bag (on the EA) than the cheapest mom and pops that I have that sells it.

Do you think EA is too high protien and fat for hot weather?

Pride Dog Food

We have fed Pride for many years without a problem except lately.We are having trouble with keeping the weight on our hounds.We avg. hunting 2 to 3 nights a week,so that shouldn't be the problem.I have also noticed looser stools lately, not sure what is going on with them. Dogs are wormed regularly also.We feed the pro series and the 26/18 blend. Brett

When you switch to DEA you'll wonder why you didn't do it a long time ago. Dogs don't need as much of this food compared to corn made junk. Just cut they're feed back when your not hunting as hard in the hot months. Its 39.99 for 40# here at TSC.

Me and a buddy switched about 2 months ago. He fed pride and I was feeding diamond. We both feed the victor now and have had great results. No more runny stools or problems with any dog holding weight. I feed less feed per month and my dogs are looking better than they ever have.

If your going to TSC try the Retreiver in the blue bag. Ive had good luck with it.

I looked at the Retriever It was Meat and Bone meal and CORN
I went with the Diamond
I dont think Victor has made it around here yet but I may give it a try when it does

Hot weather hunting was the reason we went to Diamond EA. It paid for itself in the July PKC hunts.
We have since switched to another hi protein/no grain feed but never had the first complaint with Diamond. But then we never had a dog die from moldy feed either. Some out there have and you don't even want to mention Diamond around those people. I can't blame them.

Recently switched from pride pro series 21/17 to pride 26/18 and my opinion 26/18 is twice the quality of food

Closest that I know of to you is in The Plains in Athens County, Ohio. Believe the company selling it is called Buckley Brothers but not positive on that. There is also someone in eastern Kentucky who sells Victor. He was coming up to the beagle club down your way and offered to bring some feed with him and meet me down at the club. Might want to check that option out.

I've fed PRIDE in the past and my dogs did fine on it, but IMO it's just not consistent! Some bags looked and smelt good, others not so much!

i have swicthed from diamond naturals to victor... im on my second bag and it seems to be a good feed...the reason i swicthed is cuz of the price but i realy like both of them and buckly brothers are the only ones that i know sell it

I feed the orange bag of pride. Like some of you it seems here latly dogs are having a hard time keeping weight on. I think something has changed too. My female im pushing in the hunts i feed diamond EA, and i love it. Keeps weight on her with very little stool.

Most any of the feed that attracts due to it being cheap will produce the same results. Switching from one bag of trash to another bag of trash is fooling yourself. Take the next step and feed a bit better feed and many of your issues will go away.

It has only been a week and the difference is amazing.
The dogs love this Diamond food and there is hardly any cleanup and it is what you would call normal No more 2-4 loose piles a day
I will never feed Pride again after seeing what this Diamond food can do for a hound
I was skeptical at first and a little worried about Diamonds reputation
No Corn is the way to go Wish I would have tried this sooner!!

About a month ago I switched from purina to pride 24 20 endurance. So far the dogs look and feel great. I have no complaints and I hunt them pretty heavy.
