Best Feeder Bait??

Looking at setting some feeders out what's best stuff to use to attract coon?

i tried out some popcorn last week after seeing a suggestion on here for being cheap. you can fill 4 five gallon buckets by popping 4 lbs of corn, only cost 1.50 per 2 lb. i used an electric popper for 20 dollars and it done it in about 45 min. i think they will eat it faster than dog food but they will always be back checking a bucket i've found. put a camera out last month on a bucket with dog food they eat it in a week and kept coming back three more weeks with it empty.

A cheap way to attract more coons is take a sponge and soak it in Vanilla extract (You can use Strawberry, Banana, Cherry, any sweet smelling extract). Then run a piece of wire through it and hang it up high over your bucket. Coons love that sweet smell and they can smell it from along ways, this should lure them to start eating from your bucket. When your sponge starts to dry out just pour more extract on it, the smell will last for a while!!!

Go to Dollar General! Its ground corn fried into pellets. Coons love it. Other wise use Ol' Roy.

I use the dollar store dog food. If you buy something there during the week. Get a 5 dollars off coupon for over 25 dollars the following Saturday. Buy 6 of the 4.75 15# bags its about 23 or 24 dollars. Id still like something cheaper!!

I bought a bag of sweet feed and took a tire and put on side of tree, fill bottom up with sweet feed. Thay seem too eat it good! Less then 10.00 a bag.

I did just exactly what you are saying. The only way I could get a coon to come to this food was to drench it in grape kool aid powder and then I ended up pouring alot of it out on the ground out of the bucket because it was getting old.
Do you have better luck with this feed than I did?

They will empty a feeder here in 5 days. I have a endless supply of kitty litter buckets from a guy st work. They like cats I recken. They hold exactly 1 bag of dollar store food. Only thing Ive ever used they wouldn't eat was record rack deer food. I think it was bad. I bought a guy out. He had 10 bags. It set in my feeders and ruined. I had to pour it out to. Maybe that dogfood was bad but they love it here.

Maybe I should try it again because with that coupon it certantly is the cheapest dog food route.
