What is an attachment?

My forum rules say "You may not post attachments". I have posted pictures and I want to post a video but my video server says that is an attachment. Some folks post videos and get by so what is it that is an attachment and can a video be posted by a cell phone from the woods by email or whatever?

That's not what they mean by posting attachments. You post the link to a video the same way you do a picture. I can't give you instuctions about using your phone to do it from the woods but yes it can be done.

attachment is loading a file to ukc server like when you load a picture to photobucket,your loading an attachment to their server..but what people are doing on ukc site is placing a link to a attachment on photobuckets server...

as slow as ukc servers gets a lot of the time,,
if everybody loaded the picture/videos to ukc servers and put links elsewhere ,
the servers would most likely overload and be down more than they are just slow when a lot of people are on them..

I think I see. I don't recall any video on here where a picture come up and you hit a button and it starts playing. It's always a link. But about half the time if you post a picture the picture has a link and the other half the picture is already up. My question is can you post a picture or a video from a cel phone in the woods without going through something like photobucket first?

no, not on here.

you have to load the picture/video to photobucket or one of the other websites that will allow you to store it on their servers and then post the link on ukc post..

as in the video links from photo bucket onto here ,you have to click on picture that loads on here to play the video link to photobucket.

if you have one of the newer smart phones,ect that has internet on it ,you should be able to upload a small video to photobucket.

or if you have a laptop with a internet card or cable to use your phone as a modem for the laptop..you could bluetooth the file to your laptop ,or if you save the video file to phone sd card you can load the file from the sd card to laptop and then hook your phone to laptop and use as a modem and upload to photobucket or where ever..

say you have your own webpage site,you could upload file to your webpage if your phone has the software to do it or do the laptop deal and then post the link on here from your webpage..

hope i didnt loose anyone..i'm still a rookie at this stuff,,lol

I see ya'll have email but since it is uncut video I will not send it to you unless you request it. As for being embarrassed , you have nothing to fear except 3 full blood leopards and a 1/8 walker pup of my raising doing their thing. The video is bad and the audio is not put on with an English accent. They told me my Blackberry was out of date and I was qualified for a new type. I kind of hate to do it since as you can tell I have not figured this one out yet. Thanks. I want to edit that video because it has some explatives in it , but other than that I bet you will like the content. And I can not seem to make a match from phone to computer as Bluetooth requires. No Match found.

Some message boards have the option to make an attachment and with that option your can upload from your computer files directly to the board without using a server like photobucket. This board does not make that feature available.

Photobucket was not recognizing my name or password. Then when I clicked on the Stylish Super Sally video thread to watch it photobucket did recognize me automaticaly and let me post the video in my account. I never could get the Sally video to play though. What luck.LOL
