Hunting Last night
Finally the weather broke and the snow melted. Got out for a few drops and was able to tree a few coons. First drop my dog went about 700 yards, fell treed and had the evidence looking down at her. 2nd drop she went about 1000 yards through the country, fell treed and had rings over head on that one too. Glad to see some coons moving, and the weather warming up. Anyone else get out and tree a few and enjoy the warmer weather?
Dogs did real good till about 2am, after that mostly dens.
had two dens last night short tracks their just not venturing too far from the den just yet

Her in Texas We're dilling with the deer hunters being in the woods not the cold weather. I have a young female that I'm going to be starting this year and I have managed to get her out three times so for. The first two times out she made every step my old dog did was at the tree every time. She didnt bark at tree or on the ground. But last night the first drop she opened a few times on track and I heard her get on the tree a little bit. The second drop I must have dropped right on top of one she ran the track good and was standing on the tree chopping when I got to it. They ran track almost 3/4 a mile before treeing. I was very proud.lol Only thing I have never got the papers on her and may never get them.
we went out last night and the dogs treed just about 400 yards from us the first time then when we cut loose again they went a good ways away and while we were walking into them we heard my dog then right after we heard her a pack of coyotes started just going crazy right in the same direction as the dog was...needless to say we booked it to where the dog was and she was treed and the coyotes were not to far behind...want to talk about freaking me out i was worried they were gonna get to her before we did

He may be ugly but he looks good on the wood.
Its been alot of fun for me and my son the last few nights, great races 700--1200 yards. All the walking stinks in the mud, but a great time.

We made 13 trees last night 9 dens and 4 coon
For you guys that are treeing 10 to 15 times in one night, how are you hunting? Are you hunting all night, are you driving around to different woods or what...I dont have the woods to tree 15 times in a night. Plus my dog has been having to go deep to find a coon. BY the way she made 3 trees last night. A coon, a Coon in the den that i saw, then a regular old den. Went about 1200 yards to get the meat
We re-cast in the same woods, The other night we had 8 trees by 1 am, but that was starting around 8:00 PM also. The snow was melting and you could see other coon tracks other than the coon we just treed, I personally think a lot of coon run together and although you tree a single another could have passed up that tree you just scored on so if you can I would recast, Also your hound cant be passing up tracks. jmo but we also have a lot coon in Michigan..
