ivomec pour-on mixed with alcohol for ticks n fleas

is the ratio 50/50 and how much of the mix do we use per #?

I don't know your answer but I use ivomectrin to worm my dogs and don't see as many fleas and ticks on them by using it as a wormer.

I use it to help prevent heartworms also

You guys that are saying don't use it have you tried it or just passing opinion.

I've used straight cattle pour on and put it on my dogs, it'll do the trick. DO NOT use very much though.

i use cattle delice 15cc 2 time a month. right down there back. takes care of fleas, ticks and mosqitos.

Fleas and ticks.

Beleive it or not.You can use regular white vinegar and spray it on them.It is safe and effective.Also put 2 tble spoons of vinegar in the dogs water.It helps big time.I do it every year.

It says the same thing for the ivomec everyone gives orally for heartworms also.

I used the orally ivomec for heartworms and my vet said that was fine but he said do not use the the pour on maybe I should ask about it when he told me this it was in 2002 he may know more about it now.

He may be saying do not use it orally.

Alot of vets will tell you Ivomec isnt safe for your dogs!!!! Look at Heartguards main Ingredient!

Oh, I don't think it's what's in it that is the problem. It's the OVERDOSING the dogs are getting! Just read any thread you see about using farm animal or lawn and garden products and the way they are being used and you can figure it out for yourself. For instance Heartgard has only a few tenths of a CC of Ivermectin in it yet you see people using several CC's a month per dog for heartworm prevention. The same for lawn and garden chemicals for fleas as compared to the dog flea products that contain the same ingredients only in small amounts. Then they come in here talking about how the dog food must be doing it.

I've been using it for a few years now. Haven't had problem. Father in law has it over ten years on his hounds and they have lived to be over 13 years old. He's never had a problem with fleas or any vocal problems. I give my hounds a bottle cap full on their back very other month.

IVOMEC

We give 1/3 cc per month for heart worms. The vinegar sounds worth trying. We spray our dogs & pups with Skin-So-Soft Bath Oil (Original Scent) 2 or 3 capfuls to a Quart Spray Bottle of Water. We Spray on dogs to help with Knats/Fleas/Ticks. You can use the Bath Oil Straight from the bottle & wipe on Dogs or pups & brush.

Do whatever you feel comfortable with, but my hunting buddies and myself have used a generic brand ( Durvet ) of pour on ivermectrin for beagles and coonhounds for several years. We use 1cc per 22lbs. down their backline and be sure to put a little deep in their ears. No ticks,no fleas, no mange,no ear mites,no heartworms, no intestinal worms ( still need to worm for tapeworms ) ,no problems !!!! I think the stuff is great and have every intention of continuing to use it.

If you have a flea problem the objective would be to break the life cycle! 21 days is the number spray with an insecticide that will kill the fleas and use frontline on your dog! Spraying the whole area and the perimeter around where the dog is at is important every 21 days for the best results and using the frontline on the dog every month! Ticks will also be controlled if you follow this regiment! Oh and make sure that the dog's bedding area is also treated as well! Just some helpful info for those who might need it! Ivomec is good in the liquid form and the dose is as follows a tenth of a cc for every ten lbs of body weight. For example a dog weighing 50 lbs is a half of a cc! It works on heart worms and most others except for tape worms and that is easily handled with a tape wormer. The thing is if it works for you continue what you are doing but if what you are doing is not working try this and I know it will work if you stick with it!
