yeppers sure did but he is middle way between the field and river noway i can get to him quit when i got 2 water up to my arm pits..cant hear him from the field but went out on the river this afternoon and could still hear him treed might be a bear who knows .. with all that water got me kinda worried but he has to learn somehow i guess..

Trust me,

Where Hambone is,you can't get a boat or a jet-ski to him.He's in no-man's land.I wouldn't wanna be where he's at.

yeah its a pretty safe place about 27,000 acres of nothing but deep swamp ,brairs, water, and more water oh and did i say brairs.. hambone can roam for days some dogs make it out and some dont ..an old dog usually takes 3 or 4 days and puppies ive seen stay in there as long as 2 weeks before they make it out which really stinks...

You told that right Rob . he is straight in from the campers about twice as far as when red and cletis got in there ..but he is still moving around ... Seems to be going closer to the river might be able to take a couple pups out on river with a coonhide and call him out today .. but i wish he wood come back towards the field that way next time he got over there he would no which way to come and not go to the river everytime....think with all that chest high water im coming down with a flu bug or something feel like crap today...you didnt send me your bug did you? lol

Curtis.You don't want any of what I had.I'm just now startin'to feel decent except that I feel like I got little or no energy.One good thing has come out of this though--I haven't smoked a cigarette in over a week.And it really doesn't seem to bother me.Much.

Do ya'll have gators up that far? I know herein Georgia, they are still out, along with the snakes. I'd worry about mine getting eat in a place like that down here. This savannah River basinb is slam full of gators, and the U. S. Wildlife refuge being in the middle doesn't help us a bit. I guess we'll always be eat up with big lizards.

Scott i bet there is a swamp Rob wont go back into lol....Most of the time we have it good but every now and then we get in some bad stuff .....

Robert we have a few gators up here nothing like down your way . its not but 2.8 miles from the field to the river but 2.6 miles of that it pure t hell ....

HOBO we wernt going to bring our dogs will just hunt yours, that way you cant laugh at our mutts .....

Guy said he got to the tree about the same time hambone got there said hambone walked around the tree smelled around some and stood right up on the tree like 1 of the gang..said he had the best tree style he had seen in a long time .. wanted me to price him but he is not 4 sale right now anyway lol

couple of questions for you guys down by this place.
1. is it public land?
2.if it is where abouts in that area is it?
3.if need to is it possible to get a small row boat in there?
call me crazy if you want to and maybe I am but that sounds like the kind of place I like to hunt at times.

Trust me,you don't want nothin' to do with that God-awful place 32's talkin' about.Ain't but 1 way in and out of there and that's by hoofin' it.And trust me,I know from experience,you want no parts of it.I had 2 of my hounds get in there 1 night.One was my Gr.Nt.I almost left 'em there.They weren't but about 300yds. from the field,but it took me darn near 3 hrs.to get 'em and get back out.When I got back,Iwas so wore out I could hardly walk and it looked like a wild cat had got a hold of me.I seen species of briers I ain't never seen before and I lived here all my life.If you want now,I'm sure Curtis will let you turn loose there.I wouldn't suggest it though.

When I lived in NC I used to hunt a place like real thick like that on a regular basis. I would come home all tore up looking like I'd been though heck.My wife asked me all the time why did I go to a place like that.I'd just tell her cause it is fun.She would just look at me say something about some people have no sense and a strange idea of fun.Then walk off.
