1st Annual Western Carolina Challenge

The 1st annual Western Carolina Challenge will be held at the North Carolina Tri Co Coon Club in Vale, NC on February 4, 2017. There will be a hunt off to determine the overall Western Carolina Challenge Champion consisting of the 1st place Gr. Nite Champion winner, 1st place nite champion winner, and 1st place registered winner and the winner of the hunt off will receive $500. The overall winner of the bench show will receive $100. A light will be given the Gr. Nite Ch., Nite Ch., and 1st place registered winners. Nice prizes will given to everyone who places in the bench show and nite hunt. Good food will be served all day. Deadline for the bench show is 1 PM with a $20 entry fee. Deadline for the nite hunt is 7:00 PM with a $30 entry fee. Please make your plans to attend, I l look forward to seeing you in Vale in February.

We have had several gift certificates from vendors donated for this hunt as well as dog food in addition to the prizes packages that we already have planned for this hunt. Please plan on attending, not only will you be supporting YOUR association but you have a good chance of winning some nice merchandise.

David, we were blessed to have 14 entries in the bench show and 41 in the hunt. Ronnie Fruia hunting Lenoard Keever's dog Gr. Nite Ch. Cutter's Last Girl was high scoring grand nite ch., Wayne Campbell's dog Nite Ch. Timber Chopper Sadie was high scoring nite champion, and Little Man owned by Patrick Lowery and Micheal Whiteside won 1st place registered, with Little Man winning the late round cast and being crowned 2017 Western Carolina Challenge Nite Hunt Champion.
