2012 WV State Youth Hunt JUne 16th - Hedgesville, WV

The 2012 WV State Youth Hunt will be held June 16th in Hedgesville, WV and will be hosted by Tri-State Houndsman Association.

Bench Show 12pm $0
Water Race 3pm $0
Field Trial **5:30pm** $0
Nite Hunt **8:00pm** $0

Full set of trophies for all events plus the following prizes so far:

State Show Champion -- Dog Box
Opposite Sex -- Show Bench

5-12 age division Nite Hunt Winner -- Light and dog box
13-17 age division Nit Hunt Winner -- Light and dog box
3rd thru 10th Nite Hunt -- Light

Hopefully more prizes to be announced!!

Please be sure and bring your kids out for a fun filled day. If you don't have any kids, borrow a couple!

If you have never taken your youth hunter to this hunt. You are doing them a great injustice.

THIS IS THE BEST YOUTH HUNT!!PERIOD!!!

These guys are class acts and work very hard to see everybody has a great time.!!!!

You're looking at about 3 hours straight up 81. The club is located about 10 to 12 miles off WV Exit 5. Street address is 8109 Back Creek Valley Road Hedgesville, WV 25427. Hope you can bring a few kids and join us!

Water Race and Field Trial Entrants:

The past couple years we have had to run or swim some dogs 6 or 7 times in a row to decide the State Champion in these events. The way we were set up before, the dog had to get line and tree to be declared the winner. It was reran and reran trying to get the same dog to do both and we feel that's a lot to ask of any dog on a June afternoon. To try and alleviate some of this, when the final heat is run in both the water race and field trial the dog that gets first line will "State Champion Line" and the dog that gets first tree will be "State Champion Tree" and each will receive a trophy. If the same dog happens to get both in the final heat they will win both trophies.

Just 4 days away guys and girls!

Looks like we'll have 2 vendors on site Saturday.

It was advertised earlier and it's on the flyers that we sent out, but due to a lack of donations, we unfortunately will not be able to offer free food to kids entering the events. What we've done is set up a "kid's meal" of a hot dog, french fries, and a soda for $2. We had hoped to be able to do the free food deal again this year but we had over $400 in stud fee bids that went unpaid. We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause. I hope this doesn't keep too many people from coming out!!

We will be there for sure. I have been taken my girls to these youth hunts for the last 12 years and WV has always been one of the best.
The Hedgesville club (Tri-State Houndsman Assoc.)is a bunch of good ol'boys that will make sure every kid has a great time.
They put alot of time in this event and it shows.

Between 5 and 17. In the hunt 5-12 year olds will be in division and 13-17 in the other.

That's ashame they stud fees didn't come in on schedule .... seriously SUPPORT OUR YOUTH!

REMINDER FOR THE YOUTH HUNT ON SATURDAY:
ABSOLUTELY, POSITIVELY NO CAMPING ON THE CLUB GROUNDS!!

This place is not ours and it's not our call to make. Camping is available 3 miles away at the Lazy A and on Sleepy Creek WMA.

There was a discrepancy with the Youth Hunt start times between what we had and what UKC advertised. The NH is advertised to start at 8pm and the field trial at 530 pm. We must use the advertised times so please take note.

Field Trial 5:30 pm

Nite Hunt 8:00 pm
