Last week of Va. Training
Well it's the end of the two month training season here in Va. and I hope everyone had the chance to get them hounds of the chain and into the woods. August brought hot and dry conditions and it was tuff for my ole out of shape hide grinders to put a tree on the end of the track. As I say that, I think about those guys that live out in the southwest and the conditions they deal with trying to trail up a lion or bear, guess it's not so bad here after all. September was somewhat cooler and still dry. The dogs were able to get several treed this month and I finally remembered to take the camera to the tree and get a few pics.
Jordan Run Walkers doing what they do best. Highball, Diamond, and Kate

Kate telling the world about it.

Highball treeing one of seven he treed alone in the month of Sept.

How did that **** Blue dog get in the picture?

Young boar bear

Think I got it right this time
I told you that blue dog is what you needed up on the mountain with your walkers and that you would be good to keep it.

I here ya Skeeter,
It probably hitched a ride on the back of one of those walkers. That would be the only way it would get to the tree in time to get it's picture took. You'll done anything up your way?

That first pic looks like they could be twins if they were the same color.
Those are some nice pics. Really enjoy looking at all them. Great looking hounds.

Nice looking walkers interested I'm selling one or maybe know where I can find one?
Thanks jrowe38.
jguilliams,
Are you running the garmin on your dogs? If so how do they do down your way as far as distance. I haven't went to them yet, kinda waiting for the Marshall to come out.
Walker9615,
Don't have any for sale. Usually have a litter of pups a year. Keep one or two for myself and sell the rest.
We are. We got it for our son for graduation. Right now we are still running both collars but we have not had any issues with not having a signal. I would recommend one.

Treed this one last week and it was so foggy that we had to wait for it to lift before we could get any pics.

Diamond, White Cloud Star, and Kate on a bear strike

The old man is still doing after 15 yrs.

Would like to run the critter that made this track!

hey this is travis. just thought id let know how that garmin did down here. i loved it i didnt get the wildlife box out after the second week of the season that i can remember. dont know how it will work up where u hunt but it worked great here.
Hey Travis, Talked to ShortRun this week and he was telling me the same thing. He's gonna let me use his for a few weeks when coon season comes in and I'm going to try it out up here. He said you'll had some good chases and got a few bushed.
yeah this was better at least got to see some in a tree. probaly would have been better if the two blue dogs hadnt got killed
Yea, I hated to hear that. That usually happens just when your packs coming together and starting to get it done. It's a big set back. But that's bear hunting for you.
alright i got me one of those tri colored dogs to try. hopefully ill put up a few more next fall then.
Where did you get it from, and how old?
i got it from a boy around the house. not even sure what bloodlines it is. she just eight weeks old. she was the runt in the litter going to be a little dog like the one i got killed down at justins. shes got a nose though she find every crumb the boys drop around the house.
A little tri-color will add some smack to your pack. She'll be old enough to get going real good when the weather breaks in the spring.
hey dennis just wandering what you thought about the garmin
I liked it. Was able to use it in a couple different areas and it did good. Our road system isn't as good as what you have were you hunt. We don't have many roads that are on top of the mountains, most go around the bottom or the side, so as soon as they went over the top I lost signal. I can see getting on top of the mountain and not losing signal at all.
Here's a few more training pics I found on camera stuffed in my hunting vest.
