My 5 month old needs a little break. The black 15 month black dog I should of ran tonight but thought a night of wouldn't hurt him either. Both are a little sore ( muscles and ears). Fed them big and gave them fresh DEEP hay.

Just got in ,took my show dog out made 4 trees had 7 coon and killed 3. Gonna take camera tomorrow night and he will probably look like crap.

cant hunt here in wv on sundays except 1 county that i know of my dogs going to probly get about a month off deer season opens this mornig by time doe season and muzzle loading go out it probly be 1st dec before i start hunting them again weather permiting

Not kidding about not being able to hunt on Sunday in Virginia.I'm 53 yrs. old,and as long as I've been old enough to hunt it's been that way.If I'm not mistaken,That's the law still in North Carolina too.Stupid ain't it?

forbids Sunday hunting except for coyotes and crows... Traps are allowed out on Sundays but a coondog gotta sit home....

No hunting after 12:00 am Sunday morning until 12:00 am Monday morning here in NC. Nite hunts are ok because there are no guns and the coon is unharmed.

They have tried to get Sunday hunting but the biggest block against it (beleive it or not) is the dog deer hunters. They want a day off.

Its been that way in Va allllllllllllllllllll of my life. To me its really no big deal. I guess when you grow up not being able to hunt on Sunday's your use to it.

Robert, it's a churchy/bible belt kind of thing.I think North Carolina is the same way.

I believe the "reasoning" behind it is according to the on-fire bible people....Sunday is a day for rest. Many of those same people get out of bed on Sunday,go to church,then go to Sunday lunch at a eating joint where people can be a servant to them..mo tea suh"?...lol...then go home and watch the bigboys work hard playing nfl football,nascar and such lol....Whacky Law if ya ask me.

I'm happy Oklahoma hasn't followed suit.

Include Maine

In Maine, you are forbidden to hunt starting Saturday Midnight to Sunday midnight. The animals get the day off in the woods I guess. The seasons are long thou but I'm guessing the state wants the non hunters to be able to use the outdoors. Makes sense but is awful painful for us out of state weekend hunters.

It's a challenge to watch your watch Saturday night if the dogs are doing their thing.

Most Christian folks will be at there church Sundays worshiping the Lord as for the other Folks , they *will be doing what all sinners Do,what-ever They want !!!* The Law shouldent be Nessesary under that primise

Besides some of yawl wouldent stop to let your Dog rest if it wasent for that lol

i am 59 years old never could hunt on sunday few years back they had a bill to hunt on sunday but as far as i know westel country is the only county that passed that i know of

We had heavy rain here and couldn't get out but what I don't understand is everyone that doesn't run hounds during deer season if I done that here I would miss most of the coon season. Just go out about an hour after dark and if I loose a dog I stay until I find it but that is just me. We can hunt here in S.C. on Sunday they are even aloud to deer hunt here on Sunday

Here in Mo our season opened the 2nd day of gun deer season. It used to not be a problem but do to alot of big landowners leasing their ground to the City deerhunters it can be dangerous. At these deer camps hunters will actually drive their four wheelers right to the tree and shoot your dogs because as thry are treeing a coon they are scaring all the deer away. Its best to hunt in the middle of the week or just wait till our 10 day gun season is over

Our deer season (rifle) runs from the 11th of oct to the 1st of jan. we have alot of leased land for the deer hunters but still have plenty of private land to hunt and after season the deer hunters will let us in to run hounds

Sunday Hunting State land only in Michigan, no private land.
Deer season we hunt em anyway.
