Well I have yet to see one in a pine or a sycamore. Last night at a hunt I was in a three dog cast and the other handlers said "here he is here he is" hes balled up in the top. I never seen him and I guarantee they didnt see anything either but they plused it anyway. But, I still won my cast cause they both treed a possum on the next drop.
I think that was karma biting em in the A**.
Pine yes sycamore never in 40 plus years, I think there is not that many syc's growing in my area's jmho
We have quite a few around the rivers and creeks. I'm just glad i'm not the only one who has never seen one in a sycamore.
yes i've seen several over the years but there was ALWAYS another tree or vines growing into the sycamore where the coon could cross over..

used to tree some in Dublin,Va where i used to live. creek was full of trees. have treed way too many in pine trees
when i lived in NC . my friends father would go out in day time and shoot them out of pines where they would spend the night. i saw a guy that had a pen with about 8 coons laying up in one pine

the one i saw, the sycamore is the only place he coud go. i just heard my female fall treed deep and the sycamore she was on had a calf feeder tied to it. so id say she just put him up passin by.

in the book, where the red fern grows, that boys' dogs treed one in the biggest sycomore tree in the woods. and then that boy chopped the tree down. i'd left it even if i had a chainsaw.

quite a few times. Expecially when hunting little creeks around here that have few trees. Most seem like summer time though

If you can’t dazzle them with brilliance, baffle them with BS.
Seen em in every kind of tree imaginable including Sycamore, Pine, Hemlock, dogwood, Poplar, Beech, even scaley bark hickory, shoemake bushes and a light pole once.

There is sycamores everywhere around here and I have never treed in one. The creeks and rivers are lined with them and the riverbottoms are full of em. Seems like they always go up a water birch around the rivers here and those things are thick as a pine tree in the summer.

Not very often but you can do it every once in awhile.
