Was anybody at the 92 World hunt and show?

The 1992 World hunt and show was held in Crockett, TX. If you were there and have pics I would love to see them and get copies of them. Any other information would be great too!!! Thanks Jessica

I wasn't there but do have several 'candid' pics from the show. These were taken during the show - so the lighting in the area wasn't the best.

Here's OW Hill with Queen - she won Overall World Show Champion that year. I remember talking many times with OW about that day.

OW passed away in May. His bloodline is still going strong though - nearly every dog we own goes back to Commando/Queen. (Commando was the sire to Queen and perhaps one of the nicest redbones I've seen....just my opinion).

Here is another from the show:

Thanks for the pics. I was still in high school and my parents wouldn't let me have a hound at the time, cause they bark too much, LOL. But I would go to the City Park and listen to them hounds bark, it was GREAT!!!!! Wish I had know about the bench show back then.

crossb you are toooooo FUNNY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Keep em coming!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Texas World Show - 1992

I was there....Let's see what I can remember.....Doc Birdsall judged the first part and Barry somebody judged the last half...he used to be a Rep. Vallen Nelson won the Walker female Breed I think with Tammy, Johnny Brinkley won Plott male with Capitol City Sampson or Sam...can't remember which one. Melanie and Robert Hittson won Bluetick male with Luke. I had a pretty good day that too....I won B&T Male and Female with Silver Creek Jet and Happy Trails Fancy Sissy. Crockett Texas has a nice facility for events like that one ....wish they would bring the World back there again or back to Ada Oklahoma....both of those events had great turnouts and loads of spectators on the grounds.

I'll tell you a funny story about that World Hunt. The English dog, Big River Jesse won that hunt. Rory Cowles wasn't there, I forgot who brought the dog out and hunted him. Seems like Dexter was in the final cast and I can't remember who else. Anyway, it was hot that night of the final cast. Those guys came in dripping with sweat. We were taking the winners photos and I don't remember if it was Fielder or John Miller but one of them didn't want one of those handlers wearing the hat they were. Probably cause it was a Brand X hat. Anyway, they turn to me and said let him wear your hat Todd. I had a brand new Pro Plan hat on. I'm like...nah, that's not really necessary is it? It was. I had to give the guy my brand new hat and he got it all sweaty. He went to give it back to me and I'm like..nah, that's alright, go ahead and keep it. lol That's one of the dumb things in the last 20 years I'll never forget.

It was Barry Saylor who judged the final round and I think Smokey River Hoss made it in the final 4 that year as well. Not sure if Dexter owned him at that time.

gr national gr night gr ch akc world champion kentucky river boomer the only gr night dog to win the gr national title.
also placed in the grand american hunt and winter classic.
look at the top line he could jump in the back of a 4 wheel
drive at 11 yrs old.If you have never hunted them how
do you know what running gear you need?

I placed 20th in the Hunt that year.

Had first & first on a slick Persimmon tree, & first & first by my self on the only coon that we seen. Ended up with 0 points, & could not advance to the next round. The only picture that I have is the one that they took & put on the PLAQUE.

Gr. Nt. Ch. Wittenborn's Show Time, AKA "PIGPEN" was the high scoring dog in the Zone Hunt held at Catoosa, Ok.

If you want to try to copy the picture, I will have to send the whole Plaque, because it's behind a piece of plastic with brads in it.

Had to come back & add this, Janet, WIN OR LOOSE I always had a GREAT TIME at Ada Walker Days. GREAT PEOPLE, GREAT FACILITY, & GREAT HUNTING.

92 World Hunt

I think Jerry Keel handled the Hoss dog...cannot remember the name of the owner...I think he sold Hoss to Dexter after the World Hunt.

I also remember that Crockett had a nice place to go eat there in town....a place called the Wooden Nickle...sort of a steak house with a screened in porch where you could dine outside. Food was really good!

I have a lot of photos from that weekend but I don't have a scanner to put them on here. It's been a nice walk down memory lane....they also held the American Heritage there a few years later.

I have a female that shows Boomer in her 3rd Gen. her body type is very much like his but she has a diff head on her. That is a beautiful dog. I love the black headed walkers.

Lee Barron and Warren Haslouer owned Smokey River Blue Hoss at the time of the 92 World Hunt. Jerry Keel was in fact the handler. Later Lee ended up with Hoss and Warren ended up with Hoss' sister SR Blue Jazz who was High scoring Bluetick female , I believe, the following year in the World Hunt. Dexter bought Hoss shortly after that. I would also love to see the finals back in Texas or Oklahoma.

Harold and I could not remember Lee Baron's name!! Harold said he thought Warren owned the dog too. Thanks for filling in all the forgotten details....we're getting older than dirt! Laugh!
