I feel its a good thing... If a man can beat my dog with a tracking device than I obviously didn't have much dog anyway... I say let them use them..

NFL vs MLB which has had the most success? The
League that has progressed, and made decisions with the fan in mind. Or you can deliver the same product year after year, try to cover up, bury, whatever for the quote unquote integrity of the sport. Look tradition is a good thing I get that, but at the end of the day often times, change and not being afraid of it can be very beneficial.

no way leave them in the truck.

Looks pretty lop sided to me.

I believe for the safety of the dogs it's a good idea but I also feel the rules need tweeked a bit.

I think it's a bad idea because I had a buddy spectate on a cast at southeastern an he said the whole hunt everyone had there garmins out watching it instead of paying attention to there dogs. I think it's a very bad idea allowing garmins to be used in the hunts

I've seen no bad from it, other than some people want to stare at it the whole time. You can't even talk to a fella who has his face in the Garmin.

I think it's a stupid rule since you cant carry a alpha in the woods. That's what is wrong with ukc most of the hunters are stuck in 1980 along with the organization! PKC all the way!

I use a Garmin and feel it is the best tool for training and sure makes my hunting life easier. However in the hunts I feel it is not fair in some situations. Think about this if you are in a four dog cast and you are a half mile from the truck and three of the four dogs are getting close to a road or houses and considered in danger. The majority of the cast once to call timeout because they have there Garmin. You do not have a Garmin or you have a Alfa at the truck and you have no clue where your dog is at. If you call time out you must go the whole way back to the truck to see where your dog is at and then get your dog and still be back with the cast within a hour or you are scratched. So if you refuse to call time out you will not be like by the rest of the cast because there dog is in danger. But for the cast to call time out everyone in the cast must agree. So what good will the Garmin do to protect the dogs. Remember some hunters are not fortunate enough to be able to own a Garmin so It is not fair unless UKC clubs provide all hunters with one when hunting at there club. I think you are going to lose more UKC hunters and this sport can not afford to lose anyone. Just my thought.

I love the use of my garmin. If we draw out together i always bring an extra collar or two for the ones that need one. I use to not have one and i got lucky and caught a break and got one, so im always willing to help.

The cast doesnt have to agree to call time out. You can withdraw and go get your dog.

.

Would it be a fair statement to say the experienced guys with the more consistent dogs look at their Garmins less than the other guys? What are you guys seeing?

Posted by Paint Creek English on 03-14-2014 02:01 PM:

Carried in the off mode only used during time out.
