Kawasaki Mule ????????

Anyone have a mule ? please post the good and bad .... Im thinking about a Honda Big Red or Mule.... Dont know anything about the kawasaki stuff though. I know they were the first ones to start the Side by side industry ...

The early Mules were so noisey /loud you had to scream at each other heading down the trail,,but i think that was fixed. The 4 wheel models would flat out scare you as how steep a grade they would climb ,and I'm talking WVa hills ,,,lol ,,but if you use one safe they are a dandy hunting tool as well as useing it out on the farm . Put a winch on it to pull those deer/bear up out of those hollows ,yup .

THERE'S A BUNCH OF SIDE BY SIDES MADE TODAY. THE ONLY NOYICABLE FEATURE I SEE IS THE NUT BEHIND THE WHEEL!!!!

Got a 2009 610 4x4. It is a 1 seater. Had 0 problems, not a speed demon but gets you there. 23mph is what I think I read it is governed at, plenty fast for me.

Avoid the mule and the other junk and do yourself a favor and buy a new Polaris Ranger. We've had em all on the pipelines and they get abused and the Polaris comes out on top easy. I'm on the black top a lot and don't like going slow so I bought a RZR to hunt off of. LOVE IT !!! You think your Toyota can go where this can, come get some lol.

the yamaha rhino is the perfect hunting vehicle. and put a good size box in the back and will go about anywhere. its smaller than the big red and will go more places than the big red

I'm not looking for how good they will go or speed, I want dependability and low end torque , I use them on them on farm and to hunt not race and joy ride , ive got a ranger now so know one can tell me bout them .

I've had Honda 4wheelers all my life and think I may just stick with them They are built to last

In the

Equipment rental business we have about the same luck with the ranger and the mule. I like the ranger myself. The biggest Problem we have with mules are the charging systems. The stators are junk and they take about two weeks to get through our local dealers. The biggest problems we have with the rangers are the front ends wear out quick.

If you got a Ranger why in the hell you want a Mule. Seems like you got your mine already made up. Another wasted post....

NONE of them will stand up to real hard farm work! You get guys start trying to pull too much, load too much etc etc and each and everyone of them will show you their own set of problems. they are all ATVs and just don't have the frames/transmission/engine for real work. Any of them work good for checking fence/cows and light stuff and are real nice for that easy to get gates and hop on and off. We have been through Gators, mules, rangers, kubotas, and last but not least a rhino that broke down within the first week and never could be fixed right by the dealer so we just got rid of it. The kubota probably lasted the longest and could handle the most real load kind of work but was always having universal joint problems after about 300 hrs - it was a diesel and rode rough as hell too. The gators sucked all around, the mule was rough ride small bed but decent, rangers most comfortable, good bed space and fastest but constant transmision issues. Thats just been my experience and with what these things cost these days I honestly think im better off just buying good used trucks for the farm work!

Chris Cordel, not that i have to get your permission to post but I have a 2009 polaris ranger and ive had to replace both front bearings, cv joint, 4 relays, 1 fuel pump, one seal in the water pump, one seal in the rear housing and Not that I have to explaing anything to someone that thinks they know it all but yes I have a Ranger and im going to get something else , NOT a ranger. I didnt spend 11 grand on a TOY, its a piece of equipment to me, Not a joy ride... I need something dependable Like the honda fourwheelers have always been for me. And the Ranger hasnt been that.

So thats why I posted this because I didnt know anything about the MULES .....

There is a lot people like you who get on here that post stuff on here asking for advice when they already have their mind made up. Your not going to find nothing now a days dependable like the old honda 4 wheelers that could take the beating and keep on ticking. I dont know it all but I know a little after 30 years of riding, working, owning and professionally motocrossing 250 R,s. If you had to replace front bearings,cv joints and all that other stuff you are more than riding it around on the farm. Your probably better off to go buy you a mini-truck for half the money, if farming is really all you want to do with it.

I ride it everyday , to the farm, checking feeders, moving cattle, working on fence, then coon hunting at night . Nothing more. That alone has caused this , Ive never hooked it to anything to pull anything at all... The only joy riding it gets is when my 12 yr old girl rides it in the hay field occassionally .

The whole point in this topic was to find out what peoples experience was with the Mule. Nothing more.

Just go shopping around and buy whatever you think fits your needs. Good luck!

You'll have to turn your knees out first to exit both the honda big red and the mule. Kubota is the toughest. Ranger the best ride. Expect repairs on all of them when worked.
If you've narrowed it to either the honda or the mule, I recommed the mule but not by much but then I've not had the trouble with my ranger you have.

LOL 56. You couldn't beat the old Hondas 56. I've had a 250 R,400 EX,300 fourtrax,450 foreman and they have all been tough. I've had awesome luck out of my Rangers but I love my RZR. I think I've had around 15-20 ATV,s lol. Here are the pics.
