OT - Our family needs prayers

I'm sorry for going off topic but I know many of you are Christian and we really could benefit from prayers being sent up.

Night before last, my Grandpa was killed in an auto accident with a tanker semi. (no one else was hurt). He was 85 yrs old and a big supporter of my hounds. He lived right next door with my Mom. The reason he lived with my Mom is that it was my Dad's dying wish one year ago that they live together so neither would be alone when he was gone. As my Mom put it, she feels like God took all the sunshine out of her house when He took him home.

My Grandpa was saved while in the war. His troop found an old deserted chapel and most became saved that day, on their own. He was a machine gunner with the US Army. He was to have a reunion with the others that are still living who were members of his troop very shortly. Just sent them lots of pics he had of war buddies for their display. He kept in touch with all of them. Close as family.
My Grandpa was a friend to all. He thought my redbones were the most beautiful dogs and would fawn over them. Though he wasn't able to coon hunt with us anymore, he was looking forward to rifle season.

Please pray especially for my Mom who was just beginning to heal from the death of my Dad a year ago and she credited most of that to having my Grandpa there with her.

Janet

Janet

I'm sorry to hear about the loss of your Grampa, mine taught me all about the woods, tracks, how to identify all the different woodlands trees, where to find the spooky big brown trout, and I feel was responsible for my love of coonhounds. So I know how you feel.

Our family will pray for all of your family. I'm glad your Mom is close all you can do is be there for her, take care.

Sorry for your loss.

Janet
It is a shock when someone leaves this world suddenly like your Grandpa has,, even if they have have lived a long and rich life. My prayers and condolences for you and all your family, especially for your mother who must be feeling this loss acutely. Please let her know that she is in our hearts. Maybe there's a potentially affectionate red house dog in your pens to help keep her company?

Your all wonderful

Thank you so much for all the prayers and support. Coonhound folks are the best kind ever!

Yes, my Grandpa served this country with all he had. He was a very passionate patriot. He had time for one more vote and we voted side by side. He was so thrilled by doing it, you would have thought it was his first time there.

As for a red dog for my Mom... no, that wouldn't help. She raises boston terriers (http://www.dapoochie.com) and has a house full. It's her fault all us kids "went to the dogs". She was contagious. My brother has newfs (http://www.grandpawsnewffarm.com) and my sister with cavaliers (http://www.netnpet.com/liltails/). And of course us with the coonhounds. Plenty of puppy love to see us thru.

He was SO supportive of both my and my husband & our boys. He loved everyone and everyone loved him. And I mean literally. We are projecting a couple hundred at his memorial, which will be a military affair.

Thanks again for the prayers. This is awful tough and only God can see us through.

Hugs to you all and God Bless,
Janet

You have my Prayers

Matthew 5:4 - Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.

"Lord please comfort this family as they mourn the loss of their loved one and fill their hearts with joy, having the assurance that he was saved and will spend eternity with you." In Jesus' name, Amen.

There will be a glad reunion day for those who are saved!

God Bless you and your family.
