BREEDING YOUR FEMALE

DOES THE DOG YOU BREED TO HAVE TO BE A GRAND NITE? MY MALE DOG IS LINE BRED JUST LIKE THE BOTTOM OF YOUR GYPS
PED. THIS IS HOW I HAVE MADE 4 DIFFERENT CROSSES,3/4 LINE BRED 1/4 OUTCROSS AS BARRY WOULD BE. I HAVE A PUP HERE
FROM A CROSS ALOT LIKE THIS ONLY BARRY IS BACK ONE MORE GENERATION. HE IS REALLY NICE. DARK BLUE, HOUNDY, 4MONTHS OLD AND ALWAYS AFTER THE BARN CATS AROUND HERE. IT'S KIND OF FUNNY AS HE WILL LAY AROUND ALL DAY WITH THOSE CATS AROUND SOON AS IT GETS DARK HE'S ON THEM. ALOT OF NIGHTS HERE LATELY HAVE HAD TO GO GET HIM AND PUT HIM IN CRATE ON THE PORCH SO THE WIFE CAN SLEEP. OPPY'S PAD IS LISTED ON PG. 213 OF THE MAY BLOODLINES. HE IS PRODUCING SOME GOOD DOGS LIKE HIS PAD SAYS HE SHOULD. YOU ARE WELCOME TO CHECK HIM OUT. CAN GIVE YOU SOME NUMBERS TO CALL FOR PUP REFERENCES IF YOU ARE INTERESTED. PERRY

Hi Perry

Does not have to be a Grand Nite. Your Male has been one of the males I have been considering. Or the Sandburgs dogs or Pounder. As she is not in heat yet I thought I would put out some info to see what else may be out there,
Thanks,
Scott

TONS TO CHOOSE FROM

YOU'RE RIGHT SCOTT, IT'S GOOD TO CHECK THINGS OUT.THESE DAYS THERE ARE ALOT OF GOOD DOGS TO PICK FROM. LOTS OF DIFFERENT STYLES OF DOGS OUT THERE. IF A GUY IS SELECTIVE
AND KNOWS HIS DOGS YOU CAN WITH SOME HARD HUNTING AND CULL JUST AS HARD PUT TOGETHER A LINE OF DOGS THAT PRETTY MUCH SUITS MOST OF THE THINGS THAT YOU LOOK FOR IN A DOG.
MEANING NOT HAVEING TO PUT UP WITHCERTAIN HOLES IN THE DOG JUST TO HAVE SOME OTHER THINGS THAT YOU LIKE. THE COMPLETE PACKAGE SO TO SPEAK. STAY DEVOTED, PERRY

RINGLESETTERS SHEBA

HEY, JUST ME AGAIN.
DO YOU KNOW WHO ENDED UP WITH SHEBA? ALSO WHO MADE THE CROSS THAT YOUR FEMALE IS OUT OF?STEVE SENT THAT SHEBA FEMALE TO ME YEARS AGO, CAN'T RECALL THE SITUATION.
I MIGHT HAVE HUNTED HER FOR HIM OR MAYBE HE HAD HER THERE
TO RUN LOOSE. IUSED TO HUNT DOGS FOR PEOPLE I KNEW AND LET PUPS RUN LOOSE ETC. HUNTED HIS AMOS DOG OUT OF MASH AND JESSIE ONE YEAR TO GET HIM READY FOR ONE OF THE HUNTS.
IT'S THAT MEMORY THING AGAIN. JUST CURIOUS ON SHEBA. PERRY

Later,
Scott

SCOTT COME ON DOWN TO SOUTH DAKOTA AND CHECK OUT JAMMER. HIS PUPS ARE ALL AS NATURAL AS THEY COME AND ARE TURNIN INTO PRETTY NICE HOUNDS. ALSO HAVE SOME NUMBERS OF GUYS WHO HAVE JAMMER PUPS AND ILL BE GLAD TO PUT YOU INTO TOUCH WITH THEM. HAVE BRED 5 DIFFERENT FEMALES AND THE PUPS RANGE IN AGE FROM 11 WEEKS TO 1 1/2 YRS AND EVERY LITTER HAS SHOWN THE SAME NATURAL ABILITY TO RUN AND TREE COON.

YOU ALSO MIGHT WANT TO CHECK OUT APPELS BULLET DOG. I DREW HIM ONE NIGHT AND HE LOOKED DANG GOOD. IF HE REPRODUCES LIKE HIS PAPERS SHOW HE SHOULD HE WILL THROW SOME GOOD ONES.

THANKS DAN

Dual Ch Stoner

Scott,

I've got an old ChNtCh Male out Dual Gr Russ's Treein Bl Lumber, that goes back to old Bruiser also. He's here for your inspection. Only been bred a handful of times. He's thrown a couple nice dogs that people like. I'd do it for a pup if you're interested.

I've got a partner who I own an Oppy pup with. We got him off of Perry back in May. He's a lil fireball at 5 mos old. LOUD Chop Chop Chop and a good lookin pup as well. I sure wouldn't be scared to breed a female to him. I think that would be an excellent choice for you. Unless you don't like to see Gr Nt's stacked up all over your ped? Perry will treat you right.

My buddy Cahoy's Jammer is throwing some nice early starting pups as well. He's about as much concentrated Jet blood as you can come by, if you're looing for somewhat of an outcross on her.

You've got a hard choice ahead. Good Luck.

I got a Brush Creek male that just needs 5 pts. to be a Nt Ch. He is a show Ch. and has some PKC money won. Good tree dog. He can tree any type of coon track. Never been bred. Would like to see what he can reproduce.

You might want to do some checking into Daniel Morton's Stormy dog.He is a Dual Grand Male that will flat tree a coon in any condition. He is all Utchman breed top and bottom, out of A dual gr. in tennessee and Mike Chor's late Dual Gr. Sherry female. This hound seems to be throwing pups that are really easy starting, so far very trash free, smart fast driving track and first tree dogs in most company.I have one of his pups and at 10 months he is treeing on his own. Stormy has lost some of his mouth with his age (8). But he sure is throwing his big booming mouth in his pups. He was shown in May's additon of Bloodlines (Bluetick addition) under Morton's MO. River Bl. Kennel's.If interested give him a ring and talk hounds. Daniel Morton Home:660-529-2064

blue breeding

I would look at Mulberry Blue River, He's a coon dog. I've hunted with a few of his pups and he is producing some nice young dogs. River should hook up good with your female.I think the female the Choppin ax dog is out of is close to your female.I would give Harry Pradon a call and check him out. I look at pups that a dog is throwing because that is what you will most likely get. best of luck with what ever you breed to .
Big John

I bet that you could'nt go wrong with either Jay Chadwick's or Dan Cahoy's COON DOGS. And both are fairly close.

Pounder would put that old Hammer blood back as close as you could get it, and at the same add the Jet blood that seems to be working well on the old Hammer blood through Spanky the Jet blood also would be adding back a trace of Hammer II.

Yea, that old Hammer II blood shows up over and over again in most of the good dogs out there.

Hey Vanscott,
This is Daniel Morton located below you in central Missouri. Gary Vaughn e-mailed you about my Stormy hound. I am really interested in your breeding on your female. I have crossed Stormy with a lot of different breed females the past couple years and havw some realy nice results so far. BUT.....we do not have pups out of a female quite bred like yours. Only thing I am after is breeding to proven females. Putting the pups into hands of serious individuals is a plus too. I have stuck by my words (I will breed the first 5 Grand Nites for free). Well I have one more slot left. Breeding Nite Ch hounds are of a private treaty type. I made Stormy a Dual Grand fairly easy, wish I had the money and time to have promoted him in more of the bigger hunts. But we faired well in the ones we did attend. If you looking for the old fashion looking blue dog with booming bawl mouths, possibly a little quiter on track but deadly accurate and fast on tree..well come see for yourself if interested. Just thought I would respond never know unless you say something.
Sure would like to see some of this hound in you part of the country. Good luck in whom ever you pick Vanscott, there are some wonderful bludogs to pick from now days, kinda hard to choose eh?

Posted by vanscott on 09-28-2004 12:24 AM:

Thanks Dan

Yea, It is a tough decision. There are alot of good dogs out there right now. I have two young pups here. One out of Pop a Top and one out of Mackie Creek Bo. Both are great acting pups that when you let them out they are gone. I also have a Young male out of Rattler that I really like. This female is not titled and has been a pure pleasure dog her whole life. She could have at least been a NiteCh and probably a GrCh. She is dark blue and Medium size. She has not come in heat yet and I hope to keep this post alive until she does.
I wish there was an AI catolog and service for dogs like there is for cattle and hogs. Many times people don't breed to a male because of the Timing to make a trip or they are not drawing semen from him. This would make it easier to breed to some of these males that are the top reproducers long after there gone.

Thanks Again,
Scott
