Most Important World Championship Poll

I was sorry to see the Poll Vanish. It was getting a lot of views and comments. A lot of the comments made sense. Thanks to everyone for speaking their opinion. When it vanished it had near 2000 views. I know at times it was getting heated but no more then another thread I am watching and it is still up.

I know UKC has a right to cool things down, but couldn't it be done without the disappearing Poll Results and the comments that people put time in?

The poll results were interesting and so were a lot of the comments. So here I will attempt to put up this poll again. I have also posted it at

I put in this poll a 2nd choice also. So pick one of the top 5 as most important and then the bottom 5 have 2nd by them, vote for them as your second choice for most important world hunt. Thank You

In it's day the ACHA World Championship was the hunt everyone wanted to win. It was the one to win. The ACHA World Hunt would open doors for an unknown. Some took advantage of it, some didn't.

Like with papers if you are buying a registered dog you will make sure at least one set of papers are UKC. The ACHA World Hunt was the hunt that got people talking and looking at the winner before the merger with AKC.

Today what is the Most Important World Hunt? Which is the hunt that gets the most girls knocking at the door? Which hunt opens the door the widest for an unknown? What World Hunt gives the most respect?

Most Important World Championship Poll

I am sorry to see it was pulled down. It was interesting thread.

This is just my opinion but in my eyes i would almost consider The UKC and PKC World Hunts a dead tie. The nod(to me) goes to UKC, only because i think the idea of a dog having to hunt a round by themselves is a good one. We have seen alot of big winning dogs put out in this round.

I would surely like to win the any of them myself but those are the big 2.

AKC seems to be on the rise but there where the others are(i really like AKC rules)

THe ACHA Little World hunt would be an honor to win, but it seems it doesnt draw many more dogs than a $500 added purse PKC hunt, and it doesnt appear to me that it draws big winners from either registry.

I have no idea who has won the NKC World hunt the last couple years so it ranks at the bottom of my list

haha mike i think it might have a been of a little of everyone. or to many votes for pkc. lol j/k don't bar me ukc. but it would be an honor to win either one and either way you will be a rich man because which ever one you win will make your dog with a pile of money. but the one thing no one has mention about pkc world is you also get a ring to. no one has said that i think that is pretty cool like a super bowl ring only a pkc world ring. now thats nicer then a trophy

What is people's opinion of the ACHA World Championship today compared to the glory years of that hunt?

Yep, you get one kinda like a superbowl ring. It has your last name on one side and the dogs name on the other side. I think its kinda laid out like this. Ukc is like NCAA championship, Pkc is kinda winning the NBA Championship, and AKC is kinda in the middle right now, don't know how its going to go. But, its exciting to hunt for new without wearing a truck out trying to get pup ticket in PKC. Just get three or four cast wins at the local club and you get to hunt for a new truck. I think Akc and UKC will be the main two in years to come. I wished I could all of them but do to raising a family, money is kinda tight. TIm

Growing up in the 70's i have a soft spot in my heart for the ACHA World Hunt,,so i would say i'd like that trophy sitting in my living room

Most Important World Championship Poll

With the history behind the old ACHA I have to agree with historydogsite.

Free Speech

What has happened to free speech? When someone gets a little rowdy couldn't they be called to the carpet to quite things down without deleting the whole thread.

I thought it was interesting and had well over 200 votes in the poll in a very short time. This poll here hasn't even hit 100 yet and has been up a lot longer.

I guess that is what happens when people are scared to speak their mind.

If you hunt a off colored dog..These world championships are all very important..LOL LOL........ Really though..Winning any of them would not be of very much importance to me..I guess I'd rather have the money..It would benifit me the most..As far as breeding.I could care less about that.I'm a hunter.Dont care anything about raising a litter of pups..Not like I'm rich and Famous or anything..I'd just fade away and be forgot anyhow lol...

Thanks Smokin, but have they reached the status that ACHA had in the 60's and 70's? It may be hard for any hunt to reach that status since there are so many world hunts today.

Why do you think that ACHA will never be able to be what it was? Just from the fact that there are more world hunts now, or is it something else?

I don't know if any hunt has reached the status of the ACHA World Hunt in the 60's and 70's. Back then when someone talked about the world hunt that was the one they were talking about.

I guess I would vote UKC if for no other reason then UKC is the papers everyone is going to demand. Since they are the most important papers it would be nice to see World Champion on them. I know , bad reason.
