New Grntch male

I finished Red to grntch Saturday. New title. GRNTCH Adams Shotgun Red. When I bought Red from Kerry Rooks he had 1 win towards gran already. In 6 ukc hunts I finished the last four wins on him.

Red did a awesome job Saturday he got by himself a NB d treed a coon and other dogs covered him for a piece. He made a circle tree and treed by himself with another coon and under a den tree after hunt was offer. He is defiantly independent. You can shine, squal the other dogs tree and he want cover. He tree a lay up coon or will go the distance to get struck and treed no matter what other dogs are doing.

Id give everything I could scrape together for another 16 mnth old Harry. The only bad thing about him was I didnt own him. There were times that we would hunt him hard and he would tree a coon everytime put down for a solid week and do it so fast and clean that it was unbelievable.

Its no surprise to me that he is reproducing good pups. What does surprise me is that almost no one bred to him when he was alive. I/we were on a mission to find another lilred or harry and looked at a lot of them and never did see one that was in the same ballpark. Not saying they arent out there, just saying we couldnt find one.I considered breeding Janice Joplin to him and probably would have if ukc recognized xbreds at that time.
This leads me to believe that a lot of "redbone" folks arent gonna breed to anything outside of their own tunnel vision no matter how good a dog is.
At least this gives me the opertunity to say, I told you so.

I agree 100%. The hounds are out there to reproduce exactly what this breed needs to put it out front of the rest.

Didn't someone breed a female to Harry semen not to long ago? I wonder how those pups are doing? I think that they would be about 6-12 mos old now.

Richard I have a male just under a year off Harry and a GranNtCh yellow river female that I'm taking to John. He has a huuuge mouth and is coon crazy. I'm having some health issues, and if not for that I would be putting him in the woods. He's to nice of a pup to sit in the pen. Going to be a leggy big hound, that can be heard a long ways. If he turns out anything like red, he will be in the winners circle for sure. I've always hunted walkers but Red has opened my eyes. He gets in the country with a coon and alone 99.9% of the time. They can cover him all they want he's not covering.

I could be wrong. I have before. Red dog pedigrees are all new to me. One thing I do know is Red is a completion winning dog. Very very accurate.

Sorry to hear about your health issues. Sometimes you have to think about the dog and get them to a young guy like Mr Delcamp that will put them in the woods every night. Good luck with Red. Who is your pup's mother?

Harry was nice and so are his pups. Had a litter of 12 off of one straw of semen pellets. 10 lived. Been able to keep up with almost everyone of them and they all tree there own coon by themselves with ease but the one female out of the litter I have. Last time I took her she hadn't been out in almost a year she got second strike first tree and then second strike third tree on the next coon. She is fast, quick, and decent loud. The rest of the litter was plenty loud. Didn't have a single cull that I can find.
