Timothy's Deer Break!

Just wondering if this stuff works cuase I would like to get pups off deer without doing to much damage to them don't like the fact of shocking even though I have shocked my pups I don't wanna burn them up with the E- Collar. Has anyone ever used the deer break?

Nope, gimmick.

If it was a miracle cure, everyone would be using it.

Jerry morehousse in defiance Ohio will break them in 2 hours for 15$ a break and will not schlock them and it does work!!!!

I've had good luck with it. I've used deer and squirrel break. Just get a scent pad put it on dogs collar and soak it every day. Just follow the instructions and USE THE WHOLE BOTTLE. I kept it on mine while they were in the pen. While I was hunting. 24/7. I'm not saying it is Miracle but it does work on alot of dogs if used right. Plus it doesn't cost much so if it dnt work your not out much. Just don't ignore the instructions or use half of it and them say it didn't work

I got one but I don't wanna scare my pups cuase they get on more deer than coon and I don't wanna scare em before I get them one some more coons.

Two of my friends took two young dogs to Jerry to break broke one but set her back didnt break the other but messed it up bad as well. It has worked I don't know what he does but some pups can't take it

if ya can't break em you're really not out much anyway I'd just shock em but make **** sure they're on a deer when you do.

drive around till u see deer turn dog lose soon as they make a sound,fire them up,usually about the second time, that prob. is done,,and dont say a word make them thank that deer just kicked his butt! but i let a pup be a pup,if they hav trouble runnning a hot deer track they sure dont need to run back in foward on a bad coon track,

You will accomplish more by lightly shocking a pup when they are in the presence of deer scent then you will for frying them after they decide to smoke one across the section. For example, I start a lot of young dogs by roading them along shelter belts, I have lightly shocked pups when the come across a roadkilled deer and you can see them start winding it. I have had deer cross the road way out in front of the pup and I just keep driving and roading them along whenI see (by their body language) that they smell the deer I lightly tap them. Another example, in the summer a buddy and hunt with a little flat bed toyota truck instead of messing with strapping a dog bix down we just chain the dogs to the headache rack if we are hunting close by. If we drive past a deer in the ditch or one crosses the road in front of the truck the puos get a light shock. It doesn't take very long and they avoid deer scent like the plague. When it reaches the point where if you free cast a pup and the first track they hit is a deer and they come back to you with their tail between there legs, they are pretty much broke off of deer. And don't worry about that coming back stuff a few weeks of hard coon hunting and crossing deer scent while trailing coon and they will just run right across that deer trail and look for a coon. In my opinion you will accomplish ten times more by punishing (lightly) a pup when he is thinking about doing wrong than you will by frying one when they have their adreneline pumping and they are smoking speed beef across the section.

I've never really broke dogs off deer I just get them to were I know they will runand tree a coon by themselves and they usely end up after some hard hunting breaking themselves around two years old and start fallen treed geuss they get tired of the fast game and now want to run and tree coons I messed a good hound dog up about seven or eight years ago with a e collar because it was one of these chop mouth track dogs so in my mind he was running deer because I was always used to a dog bawlen on coon bawl/chop on trash took about three months of Layen him up and completely starten the training over agien to get him to treeing coons.

the whole point is to scare the hair off them when they run a deer. So not sure why youre worried about that. I finally got sick of my dog running a deer every once in a while and now she thinks she could die if he ran one again. Thats fine by me

yup just thank when their running off game they could be running coon,but i do thank the dogs now are easier to break than they was twenty years ago,

If you spend time with your pups and young dogs you are training on a DAILY basis, doing all of the little things, you will have them broke before they even know how to run a deer and you won't have to bother with any e collars or any other gimmicks. Jmo, I have found this out on my own.

A good number of pups go by the wayside because their owner were too concerned about ruining them or scaring them. Next time they run a deer, screw'em into tha ground. And bust'em every time they do it. If they can't take training, they are wasting your time.

The way I see it.... If they're pups, a deer is only gonna teach them how to run a track.... You have plenty of time to break them only after you have praised them for gettin after mr coon

deer breaking

back before e collar we built a stand for a 55 gal drum with a crank on it. toss in dog an rag with scent on it roll bbl. no stand, push down hill. dont know about deer, dog hated barrel! this one worked for me, get billey goat pour on deer scent fasten to dog with double coulper, about 2 weeks in pen. works! do not shock dog thinking he ran deer. know for sure
