should i worry

Been hunting with my new bluetick about 10 times...he's done good..treed just about everytime..he hit a hot trail lastnight..the tracker lost signal at .75 mile and came home an hour later...question is reckon this was a deer? And how can y'all tell for sure? And if so how do I fix it?
Thanks...

you really can't tell if don't see what they are running put a e collar on him an latterly turn him on deer an if he goes to trailing or running them burn him up I quit using e collars though if they got enough since they will learn they get praised for coons an not for deer so meny people ruin good dogs with e collars because they use them the wrong way I just like a trashy dog starten out

worry

i would'nt worry about it to much if he did'nt leave the country. alot of big time money winners strike on offgame and find a coon, no big deal at all.
i like'm trashy, i like'm wild, i like'm braze'n and bold, beats a babbler. strike cash, tree cash, go get your money.

thanks

Thanks for the input....gonna keep hunting him and see if he keeos it up..I hunt in a area that's full of deer so its bound to happen I guess...

Yup bond to happen everywhere. Ps if he opens up a lot on track it may sound like he is running a deer but actually the coon is getting out of dodge silent mouth dogs tree more coons faster but I like a race don't know about you.

mouth

He was opening up good hard and loud....it was a race...for all I know
It could have been a coon or hog...just never seen a coon run 1/2 a mile...whatever it was he was red hot on his tail ...

i wouldnt worry about what comes 1st the track or the tree
not till he has caught a couple any way

Over time you learn your dog and know it like a book. And you will know when it runs something off just by listening.

Trashing

Jims Right once you learn your hound you will know when hes doing right or wrong, i could tell when mine was doing wrong by the first bark most of the time, most hounds wont run a coon with their head in the air, not long anyways

Treed two tonight...he did good again...he did hit a hot hot hot trail and took off..I got nervous so called him off and he came back...not sure what it was exactly...may have been a hot coon....

Ain't no tellen as long as he is treeing a coon let him run junk once in awhile he will more then likely to quit an tree a coon even if he did strike junk.

I know a guy who had his best gyp get drowned in the water by a big coon. once they get on that head if the dog can't handle it its over.

I've heard that too, but up in this country there is no water lol our rivers are just streams

Same here most of the creeks that are on the land I hunt have just now started flowing. about three weeks ago they only had sparse puddles going down them some were bone dry.
