Yeah, I'd sure like to see the Cheerokee River Joe dog. Like the way he's bred, he seems to reproduce, but can't ever find out anything about him.

I would like to see one with some old blood. Bozo , flag , original harry , boone , nite heat , hayes , dolly , anna , dixie , pulpwood , clover, casey. this list could get real long.

This ought to be good.

Go to John Vaught, David Haugh and Sheepdip and convince them that people have been watching and realize that they are the greatest living repositories of coonhound knowledge alive today. It shouldn't be to hard as they already think that. The only problem would be trying to keep a straight face while telling them that. Try not to fall asleep during the taped interviews then give the vidoes away (who would buy that BS) under the name "Legends in Their Own Minds".

I would like to see something other than walkers. Not trying to bash walkers, just would like to see some top studs in other breeds. And also some cur studs maybe. Maybe like a blue stud video, B&T stud, etc. Just a thought...

Jim if you want something to put you to sleep, turn on the golf channel. lol

Actually I agree with you and think we will see one with several dogs from several different breeds in the future.

the "several different breeds and Curs too" idea is VERY good..also I wouldnt mind seeing a FEMALE coon hound video, compare voices etc etc to the male counter parts, treeing style etc etc.

Texas Holdum- I do watch the golf channel!
Actually, I would be interested in anything that you see in several pedigrees or on top producers or known to throw nice balanceds hounds, male or female. But as a follower of "the other breeds" I would like to see something I deal with on a daily basis.

Posted by BRIAN E.OGLESBY on 10-19-2005 06:22 PM:

ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE. IM PLANNING TO DO A TOP 10 EDITION THIS FALL, USING ALL THE HOUND BREEDS. MABEY USE THE TOP 5 UKC REPRODUCING SIRES AND THE TOP 5 PKC REPRODUCING SIRES TO COMPRISE THE 10 OF EACH BREED.
ITS STILL IN THE PLANNING STAGES, TAKES ALOT OF TIME TO SET UP AND ALOT OF MILES.

I never hunted with him but I did breed a female to him. Kevin is a super nice fellow. He doesnt blow alot about his dog but I've seen some nice pups out of him. I was at White River last year and seen a man pull up and take his gyp into the woods on a fourweeler. 3 hours later when I was coming out he was loading up he had 19 coon on the weeler he had treed with that female. She was out of Joe and only 17 months old.

Seriously, I would love to see interviews with some of the great breeders.

Not only breeders but trainers and handlers. If some of these guys and gals were willing to sit down and share their knowledge and insights I would willingly listen. While I would enjoy watching a good video/dvd of great hounds doing what they do best I am more interested in what it took to produce these great hounds. Not that I could ever hope to do what some of these legendary breeders have done, but I would love to sit and learn from them.
BTW is there anything similar to this available with Lester Nance?
