Feed BUCKET PROBLEMS
Starting to get a lot of possums. How do you guys
control them?
hang your bucket up off the ground 3-5 feet, plus use a smaller nipple(I use a 1 inch)
Tie your Bluetick close by. He won't bother the coons none but will scare all the possums away.

Try this, works very good for Coon, and Possom wont bother it.
Take a Tire, Hang it up in a tree, with the bottom of the tire about Chest high. Fill the bottom of the tire with Corn, Cover the Corn with water, make it so the Coon has to reach through the watter to get the corn.
A good spot for this is usually by a creek. When you get ready to turn loose on this feeder, shine the feeder with your light.
If the side of the tire is wet, you have a Coon right there close, and your hounds will have a red hot Coon track to run.
If the tire is dry, skip it, and go to the next one.

sounds like you got a dog problem not a bucket problem. save all that money you are spending on feed and go buy yourself a real coondog.

I think trash around feed buckets is a good thing...helps you train more effectively. Just cuz you stop em from eating on the bucket doesn't mean there aint 20 opposum hanging around 30 yards from there.

I put out a feeder to see what it was like, its been out for over a month, I haven't see any signs of anything hitting it, but I have noticed a large increase in possums around. I filled it with dog food and it is still full. Possums everywhere now.
IF YOU ARE USEING DOG FOOD YOU WILL HAVE OPPOSSUMS,AND YOTS, I USE RECORD RACK DON'T HAVE ,NEVER TREED A POSSUM,ON IT .THAT COON CANDY WORKS GREAT ALSO,GOOD LUCK.

I'm not suprised about the possums, but this feeder is in heavy coon and they aren't hitting it. I have a game camera on it and haven't got a picture yet.
