Hot hunt tonite.

Thought it was hot last night. 88 when we turned loose last night and 82 when we quit. But tonite it was 91 when we made our first drop and still 88 when we quit. That's warm.

What's going on in SC? I treed abucket coon a couple hour ago and never broke a sweat. Got in the Golf cart to do it again with a different pup and turned around after collering up to come and get a sweater. LOL I'm thinking about strutting over to my cousin's 1/2 acre sweetcorn patch and having another go. I do understand it is supposed to get hot here one day. Snakes just shake their tail to shake the frost off it so far.

Dang, a sweater? Me an Jims burning up and you got a coat on. Must be cool air off the ocean or something.

I heard that a pack of wild bigfeets ran through South Carolina so fast that they are expecting a cool breeze for 3 more days. Haha

No Big Feets but I stand behind the two black Lepards I know I saw over the last 30 years. Search Hayne Culler if you need a reputable witness LOL. Them bigfeets can turn around and Haul as- back if that is what keeps the heat off . "Come on in Boys, the waters Fine."

Haha. My and a buddy was hunting one night and we swore we saw 2 big black panthers about 6 ft long but the game wardens say they don't exist and "especially not in east tn" haha

Worser case I guess is I'll have a bunch of blue leg Jimmy Crabs in my pots if it gets hots, maybe some swimps and mullets. Not having much luck with Flounder yet, nor spottails and trouts.. Dogs messing around with buckets OK to date, YAWN.

Set my alarm for 2:00 was gonna make a drop or two before work. Dad went at dark thirty. He said lots of bawling at the trees and not much chopping.

ps, I think his pups are getting old enough they should make it now.

We hunted 3 dogs last night, temps were in 80's when we started low 70's when we quit. Had a Plott female, Walker female, and a Redbone male. Made 4 trees seen 5 coon. Dogs looked good. And we all got home before morning.

77 degrees at daylight this morning when I got up to go fishing. No way I am even going to attempt to hunt in this heat. Climbing to the top of a hill in this heat would be crazy and dangerous. Not to mention that everything is dried up and no water for the dogs anywhere to drink.

That ain't no good. 70's is warm but the 80s suck. When its 90 at dark. It's time for me to stay home. I'll be staying in the rest of the week looks like. Ain't worth loosing one over a few weeks of heat.

We pulled Kates pups off of her Monday and hunted her for the first time in two months Wednesday night, made 3 drops and then 2 drops last night. She handled it just fine but she has always handled heat very well. Our Katy pup is half Kates age and in good hunting shape and seemed to be effected by the heat more than Kate was. But Katy is very high strung and Kate is fairly laid back. I'm convinced some dogs just handle heat (and cold) better than others. Also, both of them have never run much fast game and every heat stroked dog I ever seen came from a deer chase.
