In WV there is a local fellow that charges 50 for a buck and 45 for a doe. Includes skinning, cutting, tenderizing steaks and loin, making burger, wrapping and puts the meat in a freezer. Will be frozen if you can not make it when he first finishes the job. He has a big walk in cooler he hangs deer until he can get to them. He gets a lot of customers. He has been doing this for a number of years but this is his last week. He is selling his equipment and is going to do other things.
so much per pound around here. not sure the price anymore.
the problem here is that u carry a cooler full of meat, and when u get there there sit's 25 more cooler full's. i don't think u get your own meat back. i quit doing it because of that.
ground my own last time and it wern't even fit for spegetti sause. dont think i put enough beef fat in it. it tasted just like DEER.

Deer Processing
The price I've seen from a local shop is $45 plus the hide. I always do my own though.
I have worked several years in meat shops here in Ohio, just got out of that work last spring. My last boss quit cutting deer because of inspection regulations,( no inspected beeef or pork in the same cooler as deer) and hunters not coming to pick up deer. Other times it seemed like half the deer that came in were rotten, people don't realize to get the carcass chilled and keep it chilled.
The last few years I havent let my deer hang at all, I skin it as soon as I get back from the check in station and start boning as soon as i get it skinned, chill it in a cooler with ice.My meat stays cleaner and gets chilled quickly. After a day or so on the ice I will start making boneless cuts out of some, and prepare the rest for grinding.

Deer Processimg
We have a large proccessor in the county I live in and they charge $70 for the normal processing. That includes skining the deer and cutting it into chops ,steaks ,roasts , and ground leftovers. It is packaged nicely and marked and frozen when you pick it up.
They also make some of the finest jerky's , summer sauages, salamies, sausage links , and other specialty items that you will ever taste anywhere and those items are added to the proceessing fee by the pound ordered . Some of that stuff goes for 6=8 bucks a pound and it can get kinda pricey. Right now they have somewher between 6-7 hundred deers in the coolers. I know because my son is one of three that have skinned and quartered every one of them.
They have hunters from other states as far away as Arizona, that come to Ky each year to kill a deer ,just so they can get them processed at "Webb's Butcher Block."

Around here, they charge by the pound. I have had two done so far. The charge was 40 cents per pound. That was to cut it off the bone and process. I had already cleaned and quartered them.
Most places around N. eastern IL. charge $60 - $65 for processing.
Most places have stopped doing it all together because of CWD.
Myself, I do my own.
I get my meat, it`s cleaner, & I save a little cash.
I WENT AND PICKED MINE UP THIS MORNING AND IT WAS $30. I ALREADY HAD IT QUARTERED UP.
My husband does his own and has for several years, so I'm not sure how much here. He's been making jerky for two days now and our house smells SOOOOO GOOOOOD!
Standard processing around me is.....
$30 for a medium size deer.
$40 for a large.
$15 if they clean it.
This price includes your basic cuts, Hamb., Cube Steak, Stew Meat, Steaks, Roast any combination of the above. Everything is vacuum sealed.
If you choose to have Smoked Summer Sausage, SSS W/Cheese, Jerky, Link Sausage, Breakfast sausage, Slim Jims, Pickled Slim Jims, trail Bologna, and a number of other specialty items they are at an extra fee. The Jerky is expensive but would venture to say no one can make it as good as they do. Everything is vacuum packed and very neat and clean. I always hated the ones that wrapped it in the white paper. I'd put the processer near me up against anyone in the country. I think they take in anywhere from 50 to 200 deer a day.... Usually cost me about $100+ to get one out of there byt the time I get a box full of the good meats.
