Go with a Cajun belt light. You will not be sorry. Just got mine a while back and it is great. I went with the 20 V and it's all I need. Good luck

I think I'd go with a belt light of some kind if I didn't mind the cost. Cajun makes a good light. You can depend on the Bright Eyes products if you don't mind a box light. You can save a dollar or two if you already have a head with the right kind of jack and buy the battery pack and charger only. Get something with the reostat electronic brightness control instead of the click switch type control -- it will save your battery and bulbs. All of the 20 volt or above lights are expensive, but are nice to have. The more burn time the better.
anybody got a website for these places? thanks.,.....

Howdy Friend.
I agree with Bluedogman and I have the Brighteyes Terminator but you know what I also have an old Nite Sport I gave about 70 bucks for that is several years old and is still a bright enough light for this country. They even have them now with a reostat on the head which helps.Anyway see if you can click on the picture below for Brighteyes lights and look around.

If Cajun has a web site it isn't listed in their advertisement. They do have a toll free number @ 1-888-773-3080 and the belt light everyone is talking about is listed for $399.95

Hey Coonguy, this fellow here in Tennessee makes an EXCELLENT belt light. As a matter of fact his lights are comparable to both Bright Eyes and Cajun lights, he builds a quality light. Jimmy Riggs bought one of the belt lights and liked it so good he went and bought another one. I have asked him several times how he likes the light, every time he tells me it's the best light he ever owned and the most comfortable. The man has been honest and good to everyone that I know that went to him for anything. As a matter of fact, one kid of 10 years old saved up the money for one of his smaller lights. Now this kid called him several times while he was saving up to make sure he still had the little light in stock, even though he was a kid and was gonna buy the cheapest light he made the man still talked to him. Finally the day came when Nick had saved up enough money for the light so he asked my brother to take him out there. When my brother took him out there he asked the kid if he would like to be a field tester for him and GAVE him a much better light than the boy had saved enough money for. He has my business from now on. I really like the Bright Eyes lights, they did us good, I like Cajun and Blazer too. I have owned all of the brands mentioned and I have no complaints about customer service or the quality of the lights, but I have personal knowledge of how this man treats folks on a personal level and for that he has earned my business and endorsement.

light
Coonguy,
I bought a western rivers hot light a couple of months ago and put a 1440 bulb in it and it works great. Very bright on the high side for a 6volt. It also has the push button controls that glow in the dark. I like it very well. I don't have any other experience with other lights except the old 4 volt wheat lights, but they are not bright enough, but are dependable. anyway, just adding to your choices. It only cost me about $140. take care

belt lights
i've been seeing several of the belt lights have the plastic rivets that hold the switch box fall out.Looks like they get caught on something and pop loose.Iwas going to buy a belt light but while i was looking at them 2 guys brought them back for this problem

I have a Blazer belt light, the first model they ever made. I never had any problem with any plastic rivets popping out, I don't think they have plastic rivets. I do have a problem with having to soilder wires back because the original wasn't made for such a big fellow as me and as much as I bust my tail I was putting a strain on the wiring. It was no problem just to zap them back on though. I can't complain about anything else about it, it is over three years old and it still holds a charge for a couple of WEEKS of hunting. It's still very bright but it is a little on the heavy side because it is made with D cell batteries, but that is also why it is so bright and holds a charge so good. However, being a belt light, even though it is a little heavy when you pick it up, it is not heavy at all when it is on because the weight is evenly distributed and it is way more comfortable than even the lightest side lights.
That said, I like the Light Connections belt light better because it is only 2 pounds total and it is even more comfortable than my Blazer. Since it is made with NMH batteries it is more compact and I won't have the problem of soildering wires back to batteries (which was the only fault I had with the Blazer). Plus the Light Connection has a nice reostat switch instead of a click switch so you can turn it down as low as you want. The Blazer I have is too bright on the first click for summertime trees.
So, all in all I would have to recommend a belt light so long as it is quality made. Most folks didn't have to soilder even the old Blazer lights like I do because most people don't weigh 285 and fall all on top of it all night. I understand the new Blazers are made better plus he has some to fit us bigger folks better which would also have cut down on my pulling wires of the batteries.
I can tell you right now me and lights and these mountains don't go together too good. I can tear up any light. As much as I fall I bust cases on box lights, rip cords out of heads, knock knobs off switches and more or less destroy lights. The Belt Light held up really good considering LOL.
When I buy another light it will definately be The Light Connections belt light, I know belt lights hold up better over all and I also feel that his light will be better about not pulling wires just because of the way it is made.
