winter classic

why arent the night hunt results for winter classic posted or if they are where are they. The bench show winners have been on here since this morning.

Posted by Jason Mullins on 01-30-2010 10:48 PM:

Nothing from the hunt will be posted until tomorrow. It takes both nights of hunting to determine the overall winner

From looking at the scores of the hunt right up the rd from it..The scores should have been low last night but who knows..Maybe Ga has a better coon population than bama!

I dont want to know the overall winner i want to know the cast winners.I just cant understand why they have to wait for both nights to do that arent they haveing two days of bench shows

Show

those are some really nice looking Dual Champions though.

Glad we decided not to go down this year, would have been like the last time i went , miserably cold and wet. Had fun though.

Somebody will come back with 1000+ seem like the last few years it took 1200+ to win. It may not be a Walker.

Not letting the Friday scores known is to help prevent pencil scores.

It's 1 Nite Hunt hunted over 2 nights............same rule about calling and giving cast scores in regualr club nite hunts.

Posted by akso235 on 01-31-2010 04:25 AM:

it is two hunts you can hunt the same dog both nites

Posted by Buckshot on 01-31-2010 04:29 AM:

Yep.. thanks for the correction, miswrote what I was trying say about sharing scores over the 2 nights.

I've been to the Winter Classic. I enjoyed it.

If you draw out to the right place it's like hunting in Ohio, coons everywhere. Some of those Pecan places have coons coming out their ears, and some are not hunted and saved until the WC.

If you draw out to the wrong place you might tree 3-4 all night.

That's why you can have a hunt where some casts have low scores and some over 1000, it's the coon population where you draw out.

We see this on a smaller scale even in our local hunts. Where I am from if everybody stays close the overall hunt winner will likely have only scored on one coon the entire hunt, but if a cast drives a couple of counties over they might score on 3 or so. That's a huge difference from 225 to 675 and we see that every hunt.

How do you get to draw out on one of those honey holes somebody has baited up for the occasion anyway? Money will buy it?

I went to one and I ain't got two dimes to rub together.

I just drew out there. It wasn't baited up, it was just a plantation that had a good coon population.

The next night my brother got drew out to one (got his dog snake bit but they had a good score). I think the dog that won their cast placed pretty good. Nobody on that cast was well known.

Coons do love pecans! Pecan groves are good hunting spots for sure. I think I remember back a few years a B&T won the Winter Classic twice huntin on those plantations.

1400 + would be getting 1st & 1st on at least 7 coon with 175 minus or 1st & 1st on 6 and last & last on the 7th one. In all of this water - makes you wonder where he hunted and were there feeders out ???

Sounds like a new ga state record for most plus points on a two hour hunt. That horrible weather must have really had those coons moving!

HEY MAN !!!

How many reg. dogs were there on Fri. night?

We have more coons in GA than I thought! No reason the world hunt should not be held here!!!!
