challange to kellam and allen

Every major event Ive been to in the last few years, I have tried to get these 2 jokers to go out for a hunt with me. Always to busy putting on the said event is the excuse over and over agian.

How bout this, you 2 each barrow a dog, any dogs, and we will have a challange hunt for braggin rights. Night before, after, whatever. You pick the event.

I will of coarse be huntin Loose, so you have it half won already.
He kept trying to get in line to comferm at AO, so I know he still wants to go.

You 2 can flip a coin to see who carries the card, or maybe we can get Jim or Elvis to do the honors.

Game on??????? Kellem already knows he cant whip me at pickin ponies, soooooooooooooo...

Careful Larry. Most wouldn't let me borrow a dog. Further, I don't have a good red dog right now capable of beatin' Ole Looser. Now Kellam; he may take one of his mixed up bird dogs he got at Kenton last year on a step ladder trade and put up a good fight for your best English! That's if he's not "too" tired.

Posted by larrypoe on 09-15-2009 10:23 PM:

Trust me Allen, It wouldnt take much of a dog nowdays. This ol counterfit hasnt been hunted but once in like a year. That night he only went 3 miles (honest truth). Bad night, nothin else even struck a track.

Hes no spring chicken anymore. 7 in Oct I think. Thats like........almost as old as Kellam in dog years.

Seriously though, all you guys have ever seen is him fallowing me around at events. He really can accidently tree a coon once in awhile. I would like for you to see him operate where it matters.

And no I never use a leash on him in the woods either.

Take them to your spot Harry, it shouldnt take them long to get one treed there.

Larry
Dont let them 2 use the no dog excuse. I have one they can borrow. A two yr old could call her the first time out, plus Al has hunted with her before. Surely between the 2 of them they could figure it out.

I gotta warn ya though , they are liable to carry a typewriter and rewrite the advisor each turnout.

I wasnt even sure Kellem knew what a hound sounds like
(that ought ta draw em out )
Then theres the fact that he learned all he knows from Feilder.
(if it didnt that will)

Im a little worried about Allen though. Thats one ol boy who knows what a hound dog is.

Youve got a point, but dont you think that desk job and all the money that goes with it has dimmed his memory? Ya reckon he still owns a pair of boots?

I am sure we can find plenty of dogs ( of any breed ), boots, lights, ect. Find another excuse.

Boots? I've got no less than five pair in the garage! Four of which might need the spiderwebs cleaned out before using. Nonetheless, I still wear the one pair every now and then. If nothing else I wear em to feed the dogs just to keep them broke in. And, some gardening projects as well. lol.

hahaha, you all are too funny. For the record, I've been thinking about looking for a dog to put in some hunts this spring. I need to get back out there on some casts and see if it's as rough as what some on here are saying. I bet I don't draw one person that I can't calmly discuss any scoring situation with and can hunt all spring without a question on the card and have a lot of fun doing it. Well....except for maybe Poe. He's already making excuses for his dog and we haven't even started yet.

I'm looking for a solid HTX dog with a good mouth and equally good disposition.

Loren, John is giving himself far too much credit. I'm actually the good brother. Heck, he's the one that got away with everything back home on the farm. And, who had to clean up all the messes he got us into? Yep. Me.

JK of course. He finally learned what responsibility is and has done quite well for himself. And, yes, he's a "good" brother. I'll give him that much. lol.

Posted by Slough on 09-18-2009 01:57 PM:

So he was the bad one growing up and you the good one. Now you have turned into the bad one and he the good one. What ya'll going to be like as senior citizens?

Well then have I got a deal for you. You can barrow Loose for as long as you need him. He hunts as good by himself as he does in a cast, so the HTX thing isnt a problem. If you decide to go to a real hunt, you get to play with the big boys in the GRNTCH casts. Not to mention hes as easy to handle in the woods as he is around the fairgrounds, no leash even needed there either.

Then theres the fact that hes getting older and starting to slow down a bit...........soooooo the 2 of you should be a good match.
