I always liked Hayse Ramblin stuff. Not sure but I think his name was Terry Hayse???Game Warden from northern Mo.

Dont remember the first dog he owned I hunted withs name, but I seem to recall one named Kado or something like that. Years ago I used to draw him every now and then. Always packed a pretty fair redbone.

I have only hunted with 6 or 7 and ive only seen 1 tree a coon 1 time in a hunt. Drew out with Aftershock owned by John Biggert and thought maybe i would see a good one go but boy was i disappointed. Would love to see a good 1 go though.

A female owned by Tim Lovelace in Onaway, Mi. I forgot the dogs name. She was 9 years old when I hunted with her. By far the best redbone I have ever hunted with.

red dogs

Steve Borgman from Mountain View Mo. had a red male years ago that would make you come a looking , and had a coon a very high percentage of the time . Tom Solberg from Arcadia Wis. had a female named Raven , she was a Walker , I think Tom went to Wal Mart and got some red paint and converted her to a Redbone !!??

Sulpher River Buck!! If Ed Holden would've kept him instead of selling him to a pleasure hunter, Mr. John Woodard, at a young age, there is no telling what he could've won!! Pure coondog in any man's book!!

Golden Woods Fancy, not a competition style dog but if she had gotten into the wrong hide hunters hands coons would have now been on the endangered species list. A little tight on the ground, would tree layups all night and more accurate than most coonhunters believe a dog can be. First night I hunted with her we treed 26 coon in about 5 hours and thats including the time driving between spots and shining trees.

best redbone

GRNTCH Red Sunset Huck I believe was the dogs name. Drew him up in Owen Sound in the Canadian Autumn Open probably about 5 years ago. We had ourselves quite a cast.

A female directly out of Millers Red Betsy. Coondog!!!!!!!

Posted by Jamie Coolidge on 10-07-2009 03:38 PM:

I had the pleasure of having Jackpot Jackie at my house for about a month right before Mike bought her. Without a doubt the nicest Redbone I have ever seen go. In a months time I only walked to two trees that didn't have a coon on the outside and they were COON dens.

She was a HARD hunter that would be by herself everytime you turned her and you never had to worry about not seeing a coon when you got there!!

On top of that she had the personality of a house dog and was a true pleasure to have around.

I haven't had a chance to hunt with a lot of reds but if I had to choose one I would say Banjo III he was a coondog if any where, loud, fast and would get one up in a hurry.
