What about Wilcox' Thunder Top Gun? He was on the front twice, when he won the World and then for the 2012 English Special Issue. He's been on the back numerous times in the Garmin ad. Probably been on a cover of the magazine (front or back) more times than any other English dog who ever lived.

AMOS WAS ON THE FRONT COVER AND ROCKY WAS ON THE BACK COVER OF THE SAME ISSUE OF COON HOUND BLOOD LINES
THEY BOTH WERE WINNERS OF THE PURINA AWARD. ROCKY 1988 AND AMOS 1990. THIS WAS THE FIRST AND LAST TIME FOR TWO ENGLISH HOUNDS,WHO WERE THE PURINA OUTSTANDING NIGHT HUNT COON HOUND OF THE YEAR.

ROCKY WAS ON THE BACK COVER OF COON HOUND BLOOD LINES FOR THREE YEARS STRAIGHT. 1988 T0 1991

WHEN I WON THE PURINA,THE BACK COVER WAS NOT USED TO ADVERTIZE DOGS I CALLED UKC AND ASK IF I COULD ADVERTIZE ROCKY ON THE BACK COVER. I WAS TOLD IT WAS A YEARLY CONTRACT AT 250 OR $300 DOLARS A MONTH. I BOUGHT IT FOR THREEE YEARS. ROCKY WAS ON THE BACK COVER FOR THREE YEARS STRAIGHT.THIS IS HOW THEY BOTH WERE ON FRONT AND BACK COVER OF THE SAME ENGLISH ISSUE. NOT A BIG,BIG DEAL

Oh I see. They were on the same cover AND both Purina winners. What year was that magazine? No doubt both Amos and Rocky made an impact on the breed.

The July 2013 issue had Rogers Red Ruby on the front and Wilcox Thunder Top Gun on the back.

RIGHT THE POINT WAS NOT ABOUT WHO'S DOG HAS BEEN ON THE COVER THE MOST. THE POINT IS THE TWO PURINA CHAMPIONS. ONE WAS ON THE FRONT AND ONE ON THE BACK COVER OF THE SAME ISSUE OF COON HOUND BLOODLINES.

Larry's line of hounds has been featured on the cover/back cover and articles inside from JR to Top Gun in CoonHound Bloodlines probably more than any other over the years...never cost him a dime

Richard, I've got all but one or two of the English special issues printed from 1987...I'll look and see if I can come up with the one you're looking for.

BACK THEN THE ENGLISH ISSUE WAS RELEASED IN MARCH. I REALLY LIKE THE MARCH RELEASE DATE BETTER THEN THE JULY RELEASE DATE FOR THE ENGLISH.

both are awesome looking dogs. heard a lot about the rocky dogs

what was amos like in the woods? seems to have produced some cold nosed offspring

Richard here is another thing to add they were both on the front and rear covers two years in a row 1991-1992. Rocky also appeared on the rear of 5 issues 1989-1993 AND the only English to appear on front and back of a single issue in 1989. I have the complete set of English Special Issues 1985-2013 and I hope to keep adding them for many years to come. Interesting history.

I wrote an article for the English issue about Brent & Sondra Beck's Clear Creek English Kennel in the nineties. It had a few good pictures in that article and quite possibly the only surviving photo of their GR NITE CH Clear Creek Cadillac Jack.
