The guy sold her as a pup to a kid and when the puppy stage wore off he didnt want her and sold her back and he said she has been treeing squirrels in his yard

agree

theres exceptions in todays breeding some pups will start at 6 mons but they would have to show me they have it at that age i never started many till they was atleast 10 mons if they didnt show they were ready put up for a couple more mons id say your dog is the right age to start just dont burn it out hunting it nite after nite start slow 3 or 4 nite a week for a few months jmo

I was just thinking about closing the deal. Most people are going to think a 13 month old has been started and did not show anything or be trashy.. If it was mine somebody would be wanting me to throw in a bag of dogfeed for taking it off my hands.

I don't care if a dog is fifteen it is never to late to start them. Fixing messed up dogs that some idiot messed up trying to start at six months old now that is another story. I have never seen a dog be hurt by starting them late, but I have seen countless dogs that where scared to death of a coon because they got ate up as a pup.

Funny thing is is that if I thought somebody could and would hunt him right if I couldn't , I'd throw in a bag. LOL I'd likely have two fellows on the hook just so I could give him to one so I could call the other a cheapskate that ought to be ashamed of himself. Since I'm so kind hearted.

An old slow dog is the last thing I'd start her with. She's thirteen months old by golley she can keep up with a greyhound. A dog learns from a trainer but a trainer can't be guided by whatever stupid stuff a knownothing puppy starts either. I would not even start a 4 month old pup with an old slow dog. A pup will cut rings around an old slow dog soone enough and then what are you going to do with the old slow one? Let her learn from whatever you want her to be like. if you want a go-yonder idiot then train her with one of them and that is what she will be. I usually start pups when they are big enough to load their ownself in the dogbox. I don't expect much for awhile but by 13 months they ought to be going and opening and keeping up on a good race. If i was going to start one by itself I would probably wait till it is your pups age because alot of puppy crap is behind them and they can really come on quick. JMO
