Show Dog Of The Past

This female won Ohio, New York, West Virgina and Kentucky State show champion in 28 days. First Top Ten Toatal Dog in 1993. Can you name this dog?

It is sad... I show dogs a little not a big timer by no means but I have never heard of that dog. She did more in less than a month than most (show hounds) do in a lifetime... How was her running ability?

Shown..we are speaking as in hunt correct? Or did she also show in conformation shows?

Thanks Thornie for the post. Bridgit was the very first #1 Total Dog Winner in '93. A picture says 1000 words about her show ability. She was untouchable on the bench. She was only 13" but she was a super jumpdog that was hard to beat a jump over her but her size hurt her on the lines. She was a natural on the bench. A natural retriever she carried the bunnys back to my feet.She won Illinois State Hunt&Show in 2000 at 8yrs. She also placed 12th at the first World Championship that same year qualifing 3rd in North Caralinia. Won first place at the Last chance WQE held at Holmesville the next year at 9yrs old. She was the last dog hunted in UKC with FS 'Foundation Stock' in their name. I wish I could go back in time and make her what all she should have been. She needed 1 more win to grand in the field. I slowed down trialing for close to 5 yrs after she won Total Dog in '93
This is my Abbey's mother. Bridgit was bred once to Dailey's Trapper. And had two pups,CH.HBCH.Bunny Bumpin' Gravedigger Ace which I sold for 2100. and CH.GRHBCH.Bunny Bumpin' Gravedigger Abbey which no amount of money will ever buy her from me. Note that they too are natural retrievers. I sure miss her. She was hit by a car retrieveing a roadkill bunny in front of the house on 12/6/2001. She really didn't need a handler as you can see. She was 1yr old in these pictures. I had hair and was skiny back then also.lol.

Abbey

I only had Abbey bred twice. First time her brother Ace got ahold of her.Had 7 pups, 1-female (she was hit within a year)and 6-males. I kept JR out of that litter. Thats why I called him 'Redline JR' can't get anymore Bunny Bumpin' Blood in a beagle than him.Actually he is a Dirty Dan twin.His Great Grand sire. I never kept him with me till he was maybe 6 yrs old. I always seem to be in jail(lol) so my buddy Allen solo'd him on bunnies. Then I got him back and trialed him after Abbey grand out in the field. He's a good solid bunny dog. His wins are;
1st-3/18/06 @ Nova(first hunt),
6th-3/26/06 @ Nova,
7th- 3/21/09 @ Holmesville (NHBA Days),
4th-3/29/09 @ Nova,
5th-4/19/09 @ Coshocton (Nationals),
HBCH Win-9/11/10 @ West Lafayette(NHBA Sectional)
Second time I bred her to McVays Rebel. I needed some comformation bred back into 'em.She had 3 pups.1 males-2 females. My uncle owns 1 female, Manual Dalton owns the male and Don McCallister owns the other female.Al 3 pups turned out maybe 13" but they are Dual Champions I hear. Abbey is just too old now but I would give my right arm for one more chance to breed her again. I never was a beagle farm kind of guy. Like you said Matt. I hunt 'em till they die. No need for more than 2 Bunny Bumpers at a time- remember my dogs are housedogs.

Breedin Abbey

Matt I sure would love to breed her once more. I need a pup myself but Abbey is 11 yrs now, she'll be 12 in september. She hasn't been in season for over a year now. I have finally retired her from trials but she still can jump 'em first every time. I do still kill alot with her. We killed 5 yesterday and her tail is a bald piece of burger as always. I've killed close to 100 with her and JR this year already. I messed up and posted a reply to you last time but made it a new tread by accident.
Since she is retired she thinks that she is putting me on a diet. She thinks she gets half of everything I eat.lol. I dont believe she will come back in season but then sometimes they do Ill think about it bud.
