Best CHAPS?????

Who makes the toughest chaps?!?!?

Sense Wick went out i have had 3 or 4 different pairs of boots and the chaps always wear out within 6-8 months!! I just dont understand why know one can get the material that wick used.....

I don't either, I find it hard to believe that Wick was only company in the world that could get that material. I have decided I like Valley Creek chaps the best since Wick quit.

I've got a pair of GT's that seem to be holding up well. Been huntin in em since January, so I guess time will tell. I agree, Wick made em the best!

Tim's. Took them a little while to get them to me, but definately worth the wait.

Haven't used the chaps, but I do have a pair of GT's bibs I've been using for 3 years now. Don't use them often for coon hunting, but I put them on every time I walk behind our deer dogs and they're holding up well...and they've been through some ROUGH places. You'll still get stuck every now and then, but they don't look as ratty and worn out as my fiance's Nite Lite bibs looked after half that many seasons.

The best pair of chaps I have ever owned was MULE'S. Go to http://www.beaglesupply.com/index.php?categoryID=99

I promise they are the toughest thing out there.

Not the Dewey's chaps. The boots I really like, but those chaps are the thinnest I have ever seen on a pair of boots. They might keep you dry, but don't go through any briars.

Can you get mule chaps put on boot?

Posted by josh on 04-20-2010 03:53 PM:

I thought I read a while back someone was going to start using the same material as Wick but I dont remember who....

I have some Valley Creeks, they are a good heavy material, my only complaint is the burdocks stick to them like crazy.

If I had known it was going to be so hard to replace the Wick chaps I would have bought several pair before he went out of business..A day late and a dollar short...The story of my life.

I HAVE ALWAYS PREFERRED THE DAN'S CHAPS EVEN TO WICKS. SEEM TO LAST LONGER THAN ANY OTHER. VALLEY CREEK HAS SERVED ME WELL. WISH I COULD PURCHASE A PAIR THAT DID NOT HAVE THAT CHEAP LITTLE PLASTIC CLASP ON THE BELT LOOP. LORD KNOWS THE METAL SNAP WICK USED WAS NOT PERFECT BUT AT LEAST IT WAS DURABLE

Posted by barryg35 on 04-20-2010 04:09 PM:

ive had my dans for 3 years. only thing wrong with them is i broke one of the plastic buckles one night by stepping on it. my teenage son has had his dans for 2 years and no problems with.

they should start!! if they did i think they would be the next wick.. they are def/ one of the toughest iv seen i cant understand why other company's aren't hearing our complaints on the quality of chaps and doing something about it. i would pay how ever much extra it would take to get a pair that will last.
in the last two years i wore out, dans, valley creek, and yoder chaps (not the boots just the chaps).
before that i had a pair of wicks that lasted me 3 years.
