Happiest States to live in

A new study found that a person's self-reported happiness matches up with objective measures of state-level happiness.

The results are based on an examination of two data sets, one that included personal reports of happiness for 1.3 million Americans and the other that included objective measures, such as how crowded that state is, air quality, home prices and other factors known to impact quality of life.

Click here to learn more about the survey and what it means.

family

you got that right. my state is at bottom of the list i wonder why most of those that left came back and most came back to be with there family. other tham high taxes new york will be my home i learned to live with the taxes because everything i love is right here.
as far as southern states being the best i would guess it's for the same reasons i'm staying here, or maybe they have never been to other states. when i was training race horses many western and southern trainers came here and they all said ny is sure a buetiful state it has just about anything you want as far as lanscapes mountains, flatland the ocean to the rivers and streams.

suicide rates by state 1 wyoming, 2 Montana, 3 Alaska, 4 Nevada, 5 New Mexico... the fewer people per sq. mile the higher the rate of suicide, been this way since 1st research done by Durkheim many yrs. ago... other factors as well contribute to suicide....

You're right. I suspect the states with the lowest populations and least intrusive governments are a last desperate attempt for some people to shake their depression. When that doesn't work it becomes their final stop.

The Building I work on for IBM was Built over top of the Leather Tanning Valts of Endicott Johnson which had been just Covered over with Dirt Years before we got their in 1984 No one Knew the Valts were their, The Crome was still in the Valts which delayed us for 2-1/2 months. All the Crome and Concrete had to be Placed in 55 gal Drums and Sent to Buffalo NY to be Buried .

This was the Site that the IBM R&D Building is located..

Jenny Drafts in 1984 were $0.50 each for a 10 oz. Glass

Like I said IBM bought the Buildings and Houses that the Bars were in just to Close them ....

Next Time your their Go to Watson Blvd and Hill Ave .. This was the Area of all the Bars .. If you see Empty Building Lots up Hill ave. these were the Places IBM Bought and Tore Down ..

It's sad whats happened to the southern tier. The Triple cities are just a ghost town now. All the major employers are gone or about to close down. Drive thru that area and all you see are empty store fronts, and huge warehouses that used to be companies, now empty and for lease.

I live by a town that used to be in the guiness book for having the most bars per capita. 1 bar per 150 people. 52 bars total. The county also had the states highest alcohol comsumption and the highest dwi rates in the state. Go figure. LOL It's not even a college town...
