That is a cool picture.
Look at those legs!!
Thanks! That's the one that made the old foxhunters realize they had to have more speed in their hounds!

Definately all Legs!
Makes it look SO much taller than i KNOW it is from experience... Cool picture. Our local foxhunters with horse and hound have a blast running some foxes and a LOT of yotes on a friends farm across the street. We are always thrilled to HEAR THE HOUNDS SINGING! We try to leave Wyatt inside on those days...he tends to confuse the people a WEE bit
LOL.....
We have enjoyed seeing the foxes come back around here... rabies and development killed off just about everything but Yotes...and the turkeys....
Thanks for sharing Johnny! Heather and Bob

Re: Definately all Legs!
quote:Thanks Heather and Bob! They really are that long legged and as CoonDawg said they can stroll! I was a bit surprised at the size of the male... and at the size of the tail. They are much bigger than Grey Foxes. It was a special pleasure to be able to see them and get fairly decent photos from about 100 yards away. Red Foxes are scarce but we do have quite a few Greys and of course nothing can stop the 'yotes from spreading. We too are seeing the forests disappear day by day. I especially hate to see the hardwood going as it is. THAT is hurting the turkey population and other animals.

You can send all of your gray fox up to my house!!! The bobcat is the second most challenging animal for trail dogs to run...guess which animal is harder? GRAY FOX are the most difficult animal for a dog to consistently put in a tree (of all of the tree game). In some conditions, the bobcat may be harder because it leaves a little less scent but those gray fox are about as much fun to run as can be had. I hope your taking advantage of having them around.

It looks like it don't it.I'm going to be hiding in the bushes with my 22 magnum when he comes to it tonight. That fox is on that feeder every night and I've got a pup I'm trying to start but I don't want any fox races.
i see some eyes in the bushes behind that fox.
It's another fox.
