Corvette Capitalism

A man named Tom Nicholson posted on his Facebook account the sports car that he had just bought and how a man approached and told him that the money used to buy this car could've fed thousands of less fortunate people.

His response to this man made him famous on the internet. READ his story as stated on Facebook below:

A guy looked at my Corvette the other day and said,

"I wonder how many people could have been fed for the money that sports car cost?

I replied I'm not sure;

it fed a lot of families in Bowling Green, Kentucky who built it,

it fed the people who make the tires,

it fed the people who made the components that went into it,

it fed the people in the copper mine who mined the copper for the wires,

it fed people in at Caterpillar who make the trucks that haul the copper ore.

It fed the trucking people who hauled it from the plant to the dealer

and fed the people working at the dealership and their families.

BUT,... I have to admit, I guess I really don’t know how many people it fed.

That is the difference between capitalism and the welfare mentality.

When you buy something, you put money in people’s pockets and give them dignity for their skills.

When you give someone something for nothing, you rob them of their dignity and self-worth.

Capitalism is freely giving your money in exchange for something of value.

No it was a very complex plan hatched before Obama took office to divide the company into 2 separate entities.

Here's a point for you. Ford didn't take your socialist hand out and has done quite well in the years since. Capitalism works! Literally. Socialism is nothing more than failure waiting to happen, and it will. Talk around your town fuzzy and I will bet you can find a lot of folks who used to drive GM products, but will never do so again, because of the hand out.

which part of gm repaid bailout money with interest don't you get ? trump gave soybean farmers a 32 billion bailout we will never see that money repaid fact ! republicans hate socialism unless it benefits them personally then they call it capitalism

There is a point not being brought up. All the employees at GM pay taxes on their wages and products they purchase. I work at a GM plant, but still don’t agree with a bailout. I also don’t agree with giving subsidies to farmers or helping banks out of mishandling their business. It’s government welfare, whether given to an individual or business!!!

I am not a farmer and I don't really understand everything about the government giving money to soybean farmers. But it seems to me that the government caused their problem with the tariffs. So, the government repaid them with subsidies. And didn't the money for the subsidies come from the tariffs that China had to pay? Could someone explain this simply for idiots like me?

Trump did right putting tariffs on products coming in to be sold here. That’s what happens to our products when they’re sold in other countries. There has been subsidies for farmers for years, not just lately.
