Well built box with the Cheapest insulation that’s stuck on with 2 sided tape, is an oven in the summer and icebox in the winter, I had one for about a month.

Agreed, the insulation wasn’t much. It lasted till last year before a pup tore it out. I could easily insulate it if I needed to though.

Why not just get an All Seasons Owen's? Front, rear and side removablable / adjustable vents. Lasts forever and look good too.

I like my ole dry pond box. Use it all year round and it's light enough for me to load and unload easily. Had mine about 3 years and it is holding up well. Don't have storage on mine as I wanted it light.

Have you seen the prices of Owens now? All season boxes are $1400-$1750 depending on size and style.

I just looked on their website and wow they have had a price jump from a couple of years ago. Ours is listed at $1,710.
BUT.... I will say they hold up forever.
The same model we had before this one was in a roll over crash in the back of Daltons truck and was thrown out, came out unscathed. A few weeks later it was I the back of his buddies truck when he has hit going through an intersection and the box was thrown over 50ft into the highway. It had a couple of dents. No cracked welds the doors were fine and top storage fine. Insurance paid for it and we got just over a $1,000 for it which at the time bought a new box. The old box we let his buddy, who is like another son, keep it. They got a rubber mallet and a board hammered the dents out and kept using it. He recently bought a smaller box without top storage so he could use bed cover when not hunting and the old Owen's still brought several hundred $
So, it could be the cry once, buy once if you decide to pay the price for one.

The first factory box I had was a Houndsman Deluxe, they are well built, I hauled mine ten years, all I ever replaced was the slides on the bottom of the box. The only problem I ever saw, was they are heavy. When I bought a new box, I sold the old one for $25 less tan I had paid for it ten years earlier. I hunt a lot and the box was still in excellent shape after a decade of hauling.

I've heard good things about this company. They do regular stock stuff but also custom. Prices look reasonable. Boxes have removable panels for summer hunting. The one thing I would ask about is metal bottom instead of wood. May be worth a phone call.

Thanks, I’m picking up another Houndsman Deluxe tomorrow from Godwins Outdoors, $500 and some change, this one lasted 25+ years , Sure hope I’m around long enough to wear this new one out.
