Sort of a tough night last night

I don't know about any one else, but tracks seemed a little tougher last night than the last few weeks. The thing is it didn't seem to bother a male walker that caught a coon on the ground in a 5 year old cutover. I am not sure I have ever seen a dog catch a coon on the ground in a nasty overgrown cutover. Oh and this male is a wide open track dog.

Dang, this male is impressive! It is the same male I wrote about looking good in a pouring down rain last year.

Tough Nites

Larry,

Isn't it amazing how some nights everything goes right and coon are moving really well. The next night, it seems almost like the night before and tracks are cold right at dark and it never seems to get any better?

When did the Michigan season open up?

Hoosier

October 1st. I am not going to bother shooting many ... maybe only if the dog does such a wonderful outstanding job I feel she needs rewarded.

Boy, you guys missed the major point of the post. The post was supposed to be about being impressed a second time in the woods with this one fellas male dog. It is rare any more that a dog impresses me. I have hunted with this male only twice, and both times he has done something outstanding.

Tough Nite

Sounds like it was a tough nite for the coon.

That's the kind that gets you in the timber. The kind that makes you wish it would hurry up and get dark.

That dog is something else

I've hunted with that dog alot and he still amazes me. I've stopped telling people about some of the hunts I've been on with him cause they either don't believe me or they cant grasp how good a dog can truly be. I hope the owner, who is a 100% stand up guy, can get a good female bred to him. I know I'd love to have a pup.

Hey larry

There is a full litter mate sister to him for sale. She's on the classifieds.

I would consider breeding our female to him. He goes back to nearly all of the same foundation dogs of what I have been hunting for years. He is definitely a dog above the rest.

Hunted with Duke a bunch last year. He is surely all coon dog. Very very good track dog is what stands out most about him. To bad Brian won't push him in the hunts so Duke could make a name for himself!!

Howdy Brian,

I do not know how to text with my cell phone. It is an old candy bar style Nokia. I did get a young lady to show me how to read your text this morning.

It wasn't as good as your night.
