what is the best way to sell a dog???

Just wanted to get some opinions. What would be the best way to sell a hound? Sell it finished to nitech? Grnitech? Htx? With only a win towards nitech?? Any input would be appreciated.. thanks

Perks with all I figure. If I wanted a stud dog to round out my kennel I would want a titled dog if I wanted a dog for the hunts I would want one finished/one or two wins. You can't go wrong but I assume most people want just a finished hound.

I guess at first titles wouldn't mean anything to me.
After I hunted with the dog and liked it then titles would make it worth more. HTX is nice and NTCH with maybe a win or two

My preference has everything to do with what I see in the woods. Needs to be a coondog first titles would be second. And price them for what they are titles or not.

Of your looking for the biggest market to get the most money out of your dog. You will want to try and put atleast a 1st place win, a Bos/wcomp and if ss , get its $100 won. People want a dog all the hard work is done, but they can still put their name on it before its titled

price it for 500.00 or more then what you are wanting for it then when people call wanting to know your bottom dollar, then you can make them feel like they are getting a deal. because that is the first thing out of there mouth what is your bottom dollar, I have never asked a person to come down on a dog that I have bought if I wanted it I bought it.

Get a first place win on them. Show the dog in the woods. If dealing with a good person, then give a two week trial. You keep the papers until the check clears. Price the dog at what you would pay for it.
Don't give someone a special low price because they claim they are going to campaign the dog.
Once you sell it, it is theirs to do with what they want. Avoid partnerships. Often 2 people don't agree on everything long term. Especially when it comes to spending money. A partnership could easily ruin a friendship.

Yep...I learned a long time ago that it is a lot easier to go down in price than to go up. Titles do mean something. I would rather buy a dog with a first place win though, then I can champion him with the name I want not the one someone else gave it. If you list it on the classifieds here you might want to think about listing a location. Some people just cant seem to squeak that out. Then next in the importance list is a phone number...seems so simple but at the rate this forum bans people and for the chicken squirt reasons, your phone number might be the only way the man that really is going to buy your dog gets in touch with you.
One other thing...make sure you list it "for sell" not sale, that way you will get twice the number of calls.

lots of bad things can happen on that "trial"
show it all they want in the woods as long as you are there to control what happens. once it leaves,it is theirs from the tip of the nose to the end of the tail.
