2007 World Champion Bellars Janice Joplin

I received the phone call that no wants to get from a friend. Marv called and told me that Janice has passed away. Ill never forget that big ole locate when she came treed. And it didnt matter when you heard it just put her down on the score card. Janice was a fine hound and alot of fun to hunt. Thanks you Marv for letting me hunt her. Its not everyday that a man lets you take a world champion to hunt. RIP OLE GIRL WE WILL MISS YOU.

real sorry to hear that Marv, I got the pleasure of hunting with her on 2 separate occasions and really liked her alot.
1 thing I can say is she sure didn't like to stay in the pen when turned loose there. I hope you find another 1 just like her Marv

Sorry for your lose, I know how it feels I lost my best hound back in the winter. They are hard to lose and even harder to replace. Nothing I like better than a dog with a big locate. My old hound had a good one and the one I'm hunting now has one that sounds like he is taking his last breath when he locates.

Sorry to hear about Janice, I hunted with her a few nights when Brian Hartrum was hunting her. It was pretty clear why she carried a World Champion title. Coondog

Janice's love for me was unbelievable. Never knew an animal could love a person so much.
A lot of people need to be thanked for their help with Janice over the years starting with JR Deventer who bred raised and started her, Brian Whitted who got her into my hands,Jim Sizemore whom spent countless nites helping make her a coondog, Mike Yoder hunted and helped move her in the right direction, Todd Wall was involved with getting her ready as was Merv Hostetler and Merl Bender.
Russ Bellar was the motivating force behind it all and ended up allowing me to own her.
Scott Engle, Bryan Whitted, Mike Nelson, Brian Hartrum and Jim Sizemore have all hunted her since her 15 minutes of fame. A sincere thanks to all.
My daughter Alanna hunted Janice more than anyone over the past several years and Loved her as much as I did.

sorry to hear this Elvis........I wish there was a way for the greats to live forever.

I still remember when that final cast came into the clubhouse at Algona in '07. Those few days were my favorite memorys of competition coonhunts.

Marv

I hate to hear this. I know she has given me the best dog I have ever owned and she sounds like Janice, Sally loves me more than our house dog does. I'll actually probally make her a house dog when she gets older. I wish I could have hunted with her but I've heard a lot of great things about her. If u ever need anything I can help you with just let me know. Take care

That ol gal gave a lot of pleasure over the years. She was never a competition dog, just a real nice pleasure hunting dog. Which just goes to show what can happen with a good pleasure dog.

Janice

I hunted with Janice three times and she was impressive! I'll never forget her tree style. It is hard to find a dog of her intelligence with devotion to their owner like Janice was. Hang in there Marv and let me know if I can help.
