Diesel or gas
What do you ladies and gents prefer in your ride?
can't stand the "chatter",got to have gas power
Diesel is just to heavy. If it isn't 4x4 it better not get off pavement. Gas rigs is cheaper to operate and quiet to ride in. Now if I was going to pull a heavy trailer a lot and not have to get in the mud much I would go for diesel.

Gas
well if you want better gas milage for your buck i would go with a diesel if your goin to be pulling heavy stuff with it. but if you a hunting truck or what ever get a gas enigne powerd car or truck . but it's up to you i have a 1995 ford ranger 4x4 and it get real good gas milage but i can't pull too heavy of stuff with it like i can with a diesel

we are all about the diesels. those who complain about the "chatter" the new diesels hardly make any noise.
in addition to trucks the diesel jeeps and diesel vws are great options.
There nothing quite like the feeling of firing up my pick up, having the aroma of french fries fill the air, and knowing that I didn't have to pay at the pump!!
I voted for gas just because the diesels are too heavy for most of my uses. That being said if they ever get the small diesels they have in europe I`d try one.

With all the emission laws that are out diesels are out of the question. Dodge has the best motor but the trucks transmission and rearends aren't hitting on much. Ford has got a truck but no motor, most the new models get 10mpg. Chevy's got a great motor and transmission, but its all in a half ton truck, go figure. I don't think any of the big 3 make a truck anymore, let me rephrase that, a work truck anymore. If I had to buy one today, I don't know what I would do, probably a Nissian Titan 4 door.

Well if money were no object and I could just go out and buy any truck I wanted then it would be a 3/4 ton dodge mega cab 6 speed cummins hands down. BUT considering I went and tried to trade my (at the time 3yr old) 04silverado ext cab 1/2 ton with just over 34k miles to one and they wanted my truck and $27,000 to boot guess I'll stick with my gas burner. That truck is now 6yrs old with only 60k miles on it and I still wouldnt take the $13,000 they offered on trade in and I havent looked nor do Icare what it actually books for. Dont use this truck much anyways cause I got a 97 yota that I drive to work and hunt out of and will drive my tacoma till the aluminum wheels rust off.

I think they might be talking about that stuff when you run a diesel on used french fry oil just get from a fast food place when they change the oil.
There was an article a month or so ago saying in the next 10 years American will be more like Europe with having more new diesels in vehicles sold than gas motors. If you look at it why not have a diesel. Better fuel mileage the new ones that BMW just put out this year are cleaner than a gas motor. So why not?
if i had the money id be driven a powerstroke no doubt... drive a f350 gas truck then a f350 diesel, n tell me ud choose the gas one lol

I just bought my first f350 diesel. Ouch the fillter changes hurt. But wow what power. You sure know you are driving a truck.
Got 2 chevy 3500's, both diesel, both 4x4, one dually for the trailers the other not, love them both, better milage, less repair bills, both paid for and will last another 10 years, shut the door and turn up the radio, I can't hear the marbles running around, LOL

I have a diesel Jeep liberty and love that little thing! 4X4 and still gets 28-30mpg on the highway! Some of the new diesel dont "chatter" like the old ones. Mahindra is coming out with a truck for the U.S. this winter looks to be a great little truck. Nissan and Toyota should be coming out with one by 2012.

diesel or gas
i had an 83 ford ranger that had a diesel engine it.
it got 33 miles to gal. my brother and one of my friends had toyota diesels that got 44 to 48 miles to gal. they drove them al most 300,000 miles with verly little problems. can not find one now. these little trucks did not make any more noise than a gas engine.
wish they would bring them back, hower they would not get 20 miles to gal because of all the emission controls. can't win for losing.

My Frontier was built in Tenn. and most Chev 1/2 tons are now made in Mexico!
