Everyone Keeps Asking Me WHY? (Pics will explain)
Everyone keeps asking me why I was not with Taylor this weekend at Summer Nationals. So I thought I would take time to explain and show everyone why I missed it! Believe it or not Taylor is NOT my only child! I have a son - CHASE - who is 8 years old. Chase is quite the baseball player.
While I was in Ohio at English Days with my good friend Scarlett Overton my son & his team - The Lil' Dawgs - played in a tournament. They made it all the way to the Championship game and in that game Chase hit his FIRST out of the park HOME RUN!! The field was 200ft and remember he is ONLY 8 yrs old!! I got the call while driving home down I-75 in Kentucky right around Penny Caudill's exit. I screamed out loud and almost ran into a car in the other lane! LOL!! Since then he has gone on to win 2 Home Run Derbys and hit another one out of the park.
Well his team qualified for Little League Summer Nationals and it was the SAME weekend as UKC Youth Nationals. I made the decision to stay home and watch him play baseball during this tournament since I had missed almost all of his games while with his sister at either a Barrel Race or Bench Show. While I am very proud of Taylor - as all of you know - I am also proud of Chase as well. He is an amazing player for only 8 years old!
So there you have it. I had a very good excuse for not going with her. And it was not just that the ride to English Days and back nearly killed me!! LOL!! I hope you enjoy these pics! Isn't he just a cutie?
In the batters box getting ready to hit..........Look at the determination on his face.

Swinging - Notice ball leaving bat.............Eyes on the ball right where they should be.

Stand Up Double - Pictured here on 2nd Base

And coming Home. This turned out to be the tying run in the last inning. Notice the man in the blue shirt behind him with his hands on his head as if he is saying "NO Don't Score!" LOL!

I unterstand completely!!!!
Mine is 12 and plays travel baseball!!!
He has played since he was 4!!!!
I have missed my share of bigger shows and purina shows to be with my little man and watch him play baseball. I would not have it any other way. Even though I love to show my hounds there is nothing like watching you child grow and gather those accomplishments. I missed UKC B&T days in 2008 and that was the weekend I got to see him hit his first Homerun, I will never forget that day. I was so sad not getting to go to B&T Days but now I know why I was at home.
The one thing I love more than my 4 legged babies are my 2 legged ones LOL!!!

Those are some great pictures! As a dad of two little leaguers I know exactly what you are talking about.
I tell ya what though ... I would rather go on a cast and take my chances than deal with some of the crap I see at little league games.
It sure is funny how quickly people forget the game is supposed to be about the kids.
Congrats again and tell Chase job well done.

Thats a fine looking young man you've got there.
Good job Chase!!
My daughter plays softball and this season her team took first place. She's been playing since she was 9 during the summer and on the high school team for the past 2 seasons.

CONGRATS CHASE ...
HE DOES HAVE THAT LOOK OF DETERMINATON. IN THE LAST PICTURE IT LOOKS LIKE HE WAS GIVING A PEACE SIGN WITH HIS LEFT HAND. GOOD LUCK IN THE FUTURE.

Way to go Chase, the way you handle that bat it looks like there will be alot more homeruns to come ,keep it up !
AS far as Sam H goes he still is uncoordinated the way that joker falls down in the woods going to get the dogs. LOL
No offence there Sam.
Good Job Chase! We can wait to see yall again, and see Chase make his debut with that REDDOG on his lead!
See ya soon,
Andi
