NTCH before papers are back?

Purchased hound on 10/1. Needs one win to be NTCH. Papers in my name in the mail, do I have to wait on return papers to ensure titled in my name or can I hunt hound and if it gets last win before papers are back then it will be titled with name I put on papers?
