Diamond Deluxe Box??

I'm thinking about getting a new box and been looking at the Diamond Deluxe. I have a Owens box now. My question is: Is the aluminum as thick on the Diamond deluxe as it is on the Owens? I'm looking at the rig box that has top storage so I'm worried about the to lid bending or caving in with the weight of the dogs on top. This box is $1500 so I would like to get as much information as I can before I pull the trigger on it. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
