Deer hunters already have FOUR AND ONE HALF MONTHS of season!!

The Deer Management Assistance Program (in general a good idea IMO) would extend deer season for any private property owner who avails himself of this program to Jan 31. I would bet almost every private property owner in Ga will do this!!

As any small game hunter in Ga will tell you, we are effectively "frozen out" down here during deer season. Regardless of what the small game seasons are legally, we effectively only have from the end of deer season to the beginning of turkey season.

I have been a deer hunter all my life, but come on man if you have not managed your deer, got the freezer full, and made a trip to the taxidermist by Thanksgiving, you aren't much of a hunter.................

HB 950 is on the House calendar for today - call or email your REP!!

HB 950 did not make it through "crossover day" yesterday from the GA House to the Senate, so unless it gets attached as an amendment somewhere, we are safe for another year..................
