RIP Wayne Matkin

The Coonhound world lost a good one this morning in Wayne Matkin. Wayne hadn’t competition hunted in many years and probably never even knew UKC had this website. He was an old timer that I enjoyed hunting with very much. I grew up hunting with Wayne & my grandfather from the time I was able to walk. Spent countless hours & nights in the woods with him. I considered him a true friend & mentor not just in coonhunting but life too. Wayne enjoyed coonhunting as much or more than any man I’ve ever met. He had too many nice hounds over the years to mention. Thoughts & prayers go out to his wife Peggy daughter Jane & sons Joe & Larry. Wayne I know you hadn’t been able to hunt for a few years & I know how much you missed it. I hope you are once again enjoying listening to your favorite hounds in heaven buddy. Until we can sit on the tailgate & listen to them again....... RIP
