Dog losing voice ?

I have a dog 2 years old that use to have a great loud bawl on track and now he it is more of a squeak /squeal but still when he chops on tree everything sounds normal . Just wandering if it may possible be a phase he is going through or is actually losing his mouth any info will be appreciated thanks !
